“Beyond the
Dressing Room”
So here we are again, another home game straight
on the bounce from last week's emphatic win
against Wem Town, I have to say I feel a little bit
better now we are up and running! I had a bit of a
moment at last week's game because I always remember fondly games
against Wem Town being extremely difficult the season before.
Something just clicked last Saturday, I realised how far we had come as
a club. I looked at the immaculate pitch that is so carefully looked after
with love, a busy touchline which was from top to bottom full of
supporters and the football I did get to see was of such a good quality!
The realisation that what's happened recently to our club, folding not too
many years ago and just how much work, blood sweat and tears by
many people has gone into rebuilding our little club. It was evident how
far we have come, in such a short time.
This time of the year, for us behind the scenes is really busy, we have
several events coming up that we would love to see you at! The first one
is an 80's themed evening with live 80s band on Saturday 21 st
September and we hope it's going to be blooming fabulous. The events
come thick and fast after this with events for most of next year already
booked and penned in the diary! We have some real crackers coming up!
Merchandise is also selling well and it's great to see so many people
kitted out in Darlo colours although working out whose committee
members and who isn't is becoming a bit of a difficult issue now, we all
look the same! Haha!
This weekend Lynne and I, who largely bounce random ideas off each
other to think of innovative ways to raise money for the club have come
up with a couple of new ideas. In saying that I would urge any of you
who think you have an idea/fundraising idea or want your moment to
put on an event, please speak to either of us, as we will support your
venture. Now we are in the Premier Division costs are inevitably higher
and we need to keep that income level coming in so it's crucial to ensure
we reach and get as many people as we can to support us.
