Message from our Social Action
Volunteers
When we started 4 years ago, our aim was to
help those in need within our community; good
intentions.......but we didn’t really know how and
where to start. After many brainstorming sessions,
we came to the conclusion that we needed to
start from the beginning: to meet our community
members! Through random acts of loving kindness
we engaged the elderly, youngsters, families and
individuals; together we learned about abused
single mothers and their challenges to provide
for their children and visited the shelters where
they live; we listened to stories from holocaust
survivors and their will to claim back their lives;
we stood in solidarity with victims of hurricanes
and learned about devastation and desperation
and made every effort to provide basic needs
to alleviate trauma. We joined families in their
mourning for their loved ones; rejoiced listening
to the incredible technology to save premature
babies. We fed the hungry, helped and interacted
with kids with autism and other disabilities,
collected and delivered school supplies for schools
in less privileged areas. Planted small plants
and raised awareness on the important role in
preserving our planet. We are committed in an
ongoing program to visit a nursing home, to sing
and to bring pets for the elderly and sick.

and communities on the other end of our giving of
time and resources that we realize the covenantal
aspect of chesed.”
The purpose of those events is to mingle with our
Beth Torah members, get to know each other and
create a synergy that will allow to help one another
and understand the meaning of a supporting and
caring community..Kol Israel arevim ze le ze. Let’s
be responsible and make sure we never ignore the
suffering of others.
As one of our goals for this coming year we will strive
to mentor, together with J2M and Religious School,
children and youngsters and plant the seeds for
future generations to understand the meaning of
chesed .
We will focus most of our efforts to create a fund to
assist immediate needs for extremely difficult cases.
We wish our community Shana Tova,
may your tables be filled with honey,
sweet challa, apples, pomegranate
seeds and delicious dishes as a symbol
for happy, prosperous days to come.
May we all be inscribed in the Book
of Life and may we all be able to have
opportunities to do good deeds. Please
