MUSIC<br />
Ffor more than twenty-five<br />
years, the Coast Recital Society<br />
has presented exceptional<br />
recitals and chamber music<br />
for audiences on British<br />
Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. In<br />
our increasingly intrusive cyber<br />
world, our concerts connect music lovers who<br />
value the importance of live performances of<br />
classical music.<br />
The CRS six-concert subscription series is<br />
extended through our CRS Artists in the<br />
Community program, that broadens our musical<br />
footprint on the Sunshine Coast.<br />
Most concerts are preceded by pre-concert<br />
chats. These feature commentary about<br />
concert repertoire as well as behind-the-scenes<br />
anecdotes, and are also an opportunity for<br />
audience members to ask questions about the<br />
music and the musicians.<br />
Looking toward the artistic future of the youth<br />
in our community, we offer scholarships for<br />
local students studying classical music, school<br />
concerts, and master classes by the wonderful<br />
artists who perform in our main series.<br />
We recognize the benefits of live music by<br />
bringing our musicians to perform in local<br />
eldercare residences. These concerts provide<br />
an important and moving experience, for both<br />
residents and performers.<br />

sponsors, and various levels of government<br />
