Wedding parties set up on the grassy seaside lawn amidst wild roses and<br />
gardens, corporate groups use meeting and banquet rooms. Families<br />
settle in by the ocean-view pool.<br />
All guests are encouraged to be as active as they like, with extensive<br />
grounds to explore, a dock for boaters, and a swim float in the cove. Kayak<br />
and paddleboards are available for rent, with hikes and lakes nearby. Of<br />
course it is always an option to just sit in a fluffy robe on the deck of a tent<br />
suite and watch the tides change. Or lie by the pool. But do be sure to work<br />
up an appetite, because the Rockwater Restaurant knows how to replenish<br />
hungry guests.<br />
Menu highlights include the seafood linguini with plump mussels, scallops,<br />
and salmon bathed in a lightly seasoned cream sauce. Porcini-dusted<br />
halibut is a generous portion of the delicate fish with Asian greens and<br />
rice pilaf. The braised lamb shank falls off the bone into a pool of squash<br />
purée and tangy balsamic reduction. You don’t need to be vegan to enjoy<br />
the veggie option. It is wonderfully savoury and satisfying.<br />

Meat lovers will be delighted with the Madagascar filet mignon with roast<br />

dessert when one of the options is house-made ice cream with espresso<br />
and Baileys.<br />
Maybe you need a cocktail while you assess this menu. The Rockwater<br />
shakes up special martinis and has a wonderful wine list that offers<br />
the very finest of our award-winning BC wines. Because there is always<br />
something to celebrate, even if it is just the sunset, a fine selection of<br />
old-world champagnes and sparkling wines is available. Sit and sip in<br />
the lounge, where live music is offered most weekends, while you enjoy<br />
the view. There is a time and place to be smug and satisfied; it is at the<br />
Rockwater Secret Cove Resort, anytime you visit.<br />
