<strong>OWL</strong> <strong>Cymru</strong> 19100649147 - Burglary at the home of an elderly woman<br />

Police are appealing for information following a burglary of the home of a vulnerable elderly woman.<br />

The incident happened at the 93-year-old woman’s home in Handsworth Crescent, Rhyl, early yesterday<br />

evening, Wednesday 6 th November.<br />

Detective Inspector Elfyn Hughes of St Asaph CID said: “This was a sickening incident which targeted a<br />

vulnerable woman in her own home. The victim was not injured but was shaken by the incident.”<br />

“We are keen to trace two males who <strong>we</strong>re seen leaving the address; one was <strong>we</strong>aring a black hooded top,<br />

trousers similar to jogging bottoms with a black scarf across his face, possibly with a pattern on it. The other<br />

is described as being dressed in black.”<br />

They stole a quantity of cash before leaving on foot and detectives are progressing the investigation.<br />

DI Hughes added: “I would urge anyone who has any information or has seen anything suspicious in the area<br />

at around 6pm on Wednesday 6 th November to contact us.<br />

“I would also urge family and neighbours of elderly and vulnerable people to keep an eye on them,<br />

discourage them from keeping large quantities of money in their homes and to make sure they keep doors<br />

and windows locked.”<br />

Caernarfon Death Probe<br />

It has been reported that Police vehicles have blocked off Aber Foreshaw Eoad in Caernarfon. A body was<br />

taken away from the scene. The area was taped off just after 0730 hrs this morning.<br />

A police spokesman said ‘We <strong>we</strong>re called at 7.30am today to an incident on the road near the golf club in<br />

Caernarfon. Officers are currently assisting colleagues from <strong>North</strong> <strong>Wales</strong> Fire and Rescue.<br />

Police have confirmed that they are dealing with an incident in the area and will make a statement shortly<br />
