The REHDA Property Industry Survey 1H 2019
recorded a reduction in the number of project
launches as well as respondents. Although
there was a spike in 15% sales, the sentiments
towards the property industry for the next 10
months remained mostly neutral.
Most of the launches are 2-3 storey terrace houses and serviced
apartments and the launched selling price were those between RM250,000
and RM700,000. Most buyers were first-time purchasers, mainly for the
purpose of self-dwelling.
Majority of the respondents reported to have around 30% unsold stocks
with end-financing issues as the main reason for unsold units, followed by
unreleased Bumiputra units and low demand. Despite market conditions,
more optimism is anticipated for 1H 2020. Many players across the building
and construction industry are in the midst of introducing new projects in
upcoming trade fairs and exhibitions across the globe, which you can read
