With immediate effect, TDTMachine Tools is able to offer CMZ machinesacross the central belt of the UK. This areaextends coast-to-coast from Lincolnshire inthe East, to Wales in the West, taking in theEast and West Midlands, including Herefordand Worcester, and extending as far north asSheffield and Doncaster.The move sees TDT Machine Tools bolsterits already extensive portfolio with a range ofhigh-specification lathes based on robustbuild quality. The agreement is yet anotherexample of reputable machine tool buildersplacing their trust in TDT, which is enjoyinga fast-growing reputation, not just for sales,but for comprehensive aftersales support.CMZ has been manufacturing classleadinglathes for more than 70 years.This family business, founded in the town ofZaldibar, near Bilbao, has grownexponentially in recent years to acquireglobal prestige in the machine tool sector.CMZ manufactures almost 500 lathes perannum, all of which are designed to offer alife cycle of over 20 years. Over the past threeyears, growth at CMZ of 7%, 16% and 23%, highlights the increasing popularity of thecompany’s machines.“As many within the machine tool industry are aware, CMZ is a hallmark for quality,”states Phil Terry, Sales Director at TDT Machine Tools. “These machines are built to last fordecades, without any compromise in precision or reliability.Importantly, we can supply standard CMZ lathes from factory stockin one week, which compares favourably to the five weeks typicallyrequired for machines from the Far East. Swingdiameters of up to 950 mm and 3,250 mm between centres, can beprovided. As a further mark of quality, CMZ lathes feature hightorque, high power, oil-cooled integrated spindle motors. Themachines are Industry 4.0 compatible and can be fitted with CMZown gantry-loading automation if required.The TX and TTL range are CMZ’s flagship models. TX seriesmachines consist of two turrets that can serve both spindles. Eachturret can be configured with live tooling and a Y axis. Notably, thesub-spindle is able to move vertically and horizontally (X3, Z3),which makes it possible to turn with three tools simultaneously andthus reduce cycle times.TTL series machines offers further accessories for differentapplication types. For instance, TTL lathes can be equipped with atailstock that facilitates the machining of long parts in the mainspindle, while the lower turret is busy finishing the part in the subspindle.It is also worth noting that CMZ is unique in that the company hasits own service division based in the UK.
