The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is<br />
“A Land of a 1,000 Faces”<br />
For “An Unfinished Life” starring Jennifer Lopez, Robert Redford<br />
and Morgan Freeman, this region was Wyoming and Iowa;<br />
for “Traffic – the mini-series” it was Afghanistan; for the Chinese<br />
Documentary “The Life of Eileen Change” it was Vermont;<br />
for the television series “Wanderin’ Canada” they used the<br />
historical locations of Merritt and Kamloops; for “The Pledge”<br />
starring Jack Nicholson, it was Nevada; for “By Dawn’s Early<br />
Light” it was Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona; for “Gunfighter’s<br />
Moon” it was the big sky look of Texas; for “Snow Walker”<br />
starring Barry Pepper, it was the barren hills and tundra of the<br />
far north, where reindeer appeared at home.<br />
Desert terrain, hoodoos, box canyons, grasslands, tundra,<br />
snow-capped mountains, rugged evergreen valleys, snow and<br />
sage, historical buildings and small towns – the Thompson-<br />
