CFCC... Centering around the Community The Community Foundation of Crawford County (CFCC) was created to beneft the residents of Crawford County through grants, scholarships, and community leadership. The CFCC works with donors to create funds that refect donors’ charitable goals. The principal of a fund is not utilized, but portions of the earnings return to the community through scholarships and grants. The CFCC was founded in April 1998 by a volunteer Board of Directors that represented a variety of interests from Crawford County. Today, the CFCC has awarded nearly $6 million in grants for programs/projects supporting Crawford County children and youth, education, housing, health and human services, the environment, technology advancements, literacy and the arts, and has awarded over $2 million in scholarships benefting Crawford County students. The CFCC currently manages over 75 charitable endowment funds on behalf of families, individuals, corporations and non-proft organizations. Among the Organizations that have received CFCC support are: • Blue River Services • Crawford County 4-H Council • Crawford County School Corp • Crawford County Veterans Memorial Association • Crawford County Youth Baseball and Softball, Inc. • Habitat for Humanity As we move toward our 20th anniversary, the CFCC is commited to a revitalized community foundation that is focused on advancement and growth. Increased grantmaking, no-cost training for local nonprofts, new stafng structure, and board members who bring diverse expertise are only a few of the steps taken to ensuring our next 20 years, and beyond. Our success depends on participation from the community.. We welcome new and returning friends to play an active role shaping the CFCC. Our Advisory Council is charged with reaching out to the community to recruit individuals with an interest in becoming involved. If your area(s) of expertise and philanthropic interests are aligned with our mission, we encourage you to contact our Advisory Council, a Board member, or staf person. We encourage you and your families to make the CFCC a part of your personal philanthropic endeavors.
