PAGE 2 BAY HARBOUR Latest Canterbury news at starnews.co.nz Wednesday January 22 2020 THERE’S A tremendous story on the front page today about Ed Lopas’ health battle. The 16-year-old, who hails from Little River, is a very promising sportsman. But when he was struck down with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of blood cancer in July last year, the world for Ed and his family was turned upside down. Ed is a fighter and fit as a buck rabbit which no doubt helped him in his recovery. He went through five months of chemotherapy and is now back rowing. Ed was training at a camp at Lake Hayes in Central Otago last week. His goal is to represent his school at the Maadi Cup regatta in March. Ed’s determination will get him there. - Barry Clarke get in touch from the editor’s desk GENERAL INQUIRIES Ph 379 7100 CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING Ph 379 1100 Star Media, a division of Allied Press Ltd PO box 1467, Christchurch starmedia.kiwi NEWS Jess Gibson Ph: 021 914 169 jess.gibson@starmedia.kiwi ADVERTISING Jo-Anne Fuller Ph: 364 7425 jo.fuller@ starmedia.kiwi Rob Davison Ph: 021 225 8584 rob.davison@ starmedia.kiwi news Majority of submissions in favour The resource consent application for controversial Collett’s Corner has received mainly positive submissions.
