Makeup myths
beauty
Myth 1
Using hairspray will
set your makeup
This very well may work, but would you
really want to spray hairspray on your
face? ‘Aside from feeling sticky and tacky
on your skin, lots of hairsprays are toxic
and designed for hair, not skin,’ says
LUMA Beauty MUA, Sarah Tammer.
With the number of brilliant makeupsetting
sprays on the market specifically
designed for your precious skin in
mind, there’s absolutely no need to use
hairspray to set your makeup!
Myth 2
Your under-eye concealer
should match your
foundation
According to Tammer, not necessarily. Some people
need a lighter concealer to counteract dark areas and
some don’t. Each face is unique and requires different
products and techniques. As a general rule, your
concealer should be pretty similar to your foundation
shade, but with a slightly different undertone,
depending on whether you’re covering up dark circles,
redness or blemishes.
