April is a month of courage at Sekolah
Pelita Bangsa.
What a fortunate coincidence since it
is in this difficult time, we all need a
dash of courage, coupled with a sliver of
compassion and a pinch of cooperation
in our daily lives. We need courage
to make the right choices every day,
putting our families and communities
first by practicing physical and social
distancing. We need courage to stay
optimistic in the face of adversity.
While leading with courage, let us also
have compassion. It is hard to find
compassion in the emotional turbulence
of uncertainty. However, compassion
allows us to understand, to encourage
and to show kindness to others.
Compassion counters fear and blame.
Lastly, let us cooperate. We cooperate
by following the government regulations.
Most importantly, let us cooperate so
when the pandemic passes, our children
will learn from the characters we have
shown them while they continue to
cultivate their own characters, skills and
academic achievements.
Together we will not only survive, but
thrive in this hard time.
