This public notice is in accordance with s138 of the Local
Government Act 2002 that the Council is proposing to grant
a ground lease to the Sea Cadet Association of New Zealand
(SCANZ-TS Godley branch) for the footprint of some of the ex naval
buildings located on Steadfast Reserve at 86 Governors Bay Road.
Naval Cadets have been occupying the buildings since the early
1960s. The reason for the proposed lease is to provide security
of tenure which then enables SCANZ to apply for funds for the
purpose of undertaking building maintenance.

and James Daniels have sent a
letter to Mayor Lianne Dalziel
asking her to lead a conversation
as to how a zero per cent rates
increase could be achieved this
year.
The city council is proposing
an average rates increase of 4.65
per cent across all ratepayers in
this year’s Draft Annual Plan
which is currently under public
consultation until April 5 and
will be finalised before July 1.
The 2018-2028 Long Term
Plan also predicts a 50 per cent
rates increase over 10 years.
