Plann<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dividualised programmes for clients is a key part of the personal tra<strong>in</strong>er role. When plann<strong>in</strong>g<br />

programmes personal tra<strong>in</strong>ers must follow specific guidel<strong>in</strong>es and pr<strong>in</strong>ciples.<br />

These guidel<strong>in</strong>es and pr<strong>in</strong>ciples will apply to all exercises programmes <strong>in</strong> environments designed for exercise<br />

as well as those not designed for exercise. The different tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g environments <strong>in</strong>clude:<br />

• Gyms.<br />

• Studios.<br />

• Swimm<strong>in</strong>g pools.<br />

• Clients’ homes.<br />

• <strong>Personal</strong> tra<strong>in</strong>ers’ homes.<br />

• Public parks or countryside.<br />

• Public streets.<br />

• Community or village halls.<br />

• Clients’ places of work.<br />

• Beaches.<br />

• Sports halls, arenas or<br />

stadiums.<br />
