“My favourite time to shoot is sunrise,
everything is quiet and new, and the light
is pretty fantastic too . . . A big part of
what I strive to capture is stillness. I use
minimalism as a guide, less noise, less
fuss, give the scene more space, and if I’m
lucky, that room creates some depth too.”
Barry’s photo-mounting process took a few
years to hone and involves several steps
and a lot of patience, but she completely
achieves her goal: to make the photo seem
like “something the viewer can walk into.”
