Age UK is the country’s largest
charity dedicated to helping
everyone make the most
of their later life. The charity
provides companionship,
advice and support for older
people who need it most.
For over a million of the oldest
people in the UK, television is
their main form of company.
But after the BBC announced
their plan to means test TV
licenses for the over 75s, this
became under threat. Age UK
knows this change will harm
millions of older people who
rely on their TV. They wanted
to launch a campaign that
demands the Government
takes back responsibility for
funding free TV licenses.
Results
Age UK’s online petition to save
free tv licenses has surpassed
the 600,000 mark.
