costume helps keep team spirit from flagging over the grueling 10 km race. Teams were made up of four or more people, and the minimum age was dropped to
10 years, to encourage family entries. Linnmann and Peterson have put a lot of thought into this event. They are strongly family focused and even include a “mini
grind” for kids at Lions Park. Many volunteer hours go into the Mountain Grind each year to set up and dismantle obstacles, and that strong “Harbour community
spirit” is evident. Lions Park offers vendors, food, music, and a beer garden that opens at 10:00 am for spectators who need some fortification. The endorphins
peak when muddy and scraped participants are awarded prizes (this year a “shower off” station was available) and then sit down to a well-deserved BBQ.
