Rangiora, since 2014, doingupholstery and<br />
motortrimming.<br />

Brent says Southbrookbusinessesall<br />
work in well together and he supports local<br />
businesses for suppliesand services where<br />
possible. ‘‘We allhelp each other out.It’s<br />
been fantastic. As long as everybody<br />
spends moneywith eachother we will<br />
surviveand the public are supporting us.’’<br />
Brent has been in the upholsteryand<br />
textiles trade for 37 years, afterstartingan<br />
apprenticeship as a16yearold.<br />
‘‘I love the creative side of it andIlike to<br />
see the customer walking out the door with<br />
asmile on theirface. Iget more of akick<br />
out of that thananything else.’’<br />
One job he is particularly proudofisthe<br />
upholsterywork at the Ivory Bar in<br />
Rangiora. ‘‘I’mvery proud to have been<br />
partofthe fitout and thanks to the Ivory<br />
Bar for the opportunity to do it.’’<br />

yachts,tour boats, rescue boatsand trucks.<br />
‘‘A lot of trucking companies come and<br />
see me and drop off the seats andIrestore<br />
them, and I’ve restored awholerange of<br />
seats in cars.<br />
