Easy connection in any hazardous area
Fieldconnex Multi-Input Output (MIO) offers intrinsically
safe inputs and outputs for discrete signals in
zone 0 and division 1 and comes with certification for
installation in zone 1 and division 2. MIO can be set up
to monitor and control four different types of discrete
signals via Foundation Fieldbus H1 and Profibus PA
protocols. It can monitor the status of up to 12 Namur
sensors, control up to four valves, including position
feedback and automatic partial stroke test, connect signals
from vibration limit switches and collect signals
from pulse and frequency signals. This latest function
enables users to monitor and detect standstill of motors,
where this is critical to the process or safety.
Laser shaft alignment in hazardous areas
Maintenance technicians in the
petrochemical and chemical processing
industries will now be
able to use the Pruftechnik
single-laser technology and a
ruggedised tablet with touchscreen
to perform laser shaft
alignment. Sensalign single-laser
technology offers a superior
measurement principle that ensures
high measurement accuracy
and repeatability in any situation.
The measurement setup is
fast and a machine pre-alignment
Picture: Pruftechnik
is not necessary. No matter what
the distance or length of the
spacer shaft is, the measurement
accuracy remains consistent.
Rotalign touch EX is Zone 1 certified
according to Atex/IECEx.
Rotalign touch EX is packed with
many user-friendly alignment
features including the continuous
Sweep mode and the Live Move
function for simultaneous realtime
machine corrections.
Monitoring of combustible and toxic gases
Picture: MSR Electronic
MSR-Electronic's SSAX1 sensor
probe effectively protects people
and equipment in dangerous
situations when combustible and
toxic gases escape. In addition to
the high-quality infrared sensor
element and the measuring amplifier,
the SSAX1 contains a
μController for processing the
measured values. The IR measuring
principle with integrated
temperature compensation ensures
high accuracy, selectivity
and reliability. All relevant data
and measured values of the sensor
element are stored fail-safe in
the μController and are transmitted
digitally via the local bus
to the controller or the board. A
signal output via PWM is also
possible. The remote sensor
probe with local bus interface
can be connected to the board
with a standard Atex cable of
5 m length for evaluation of the
measured values. The board is
mounted outside the hazardous
areas. Due to the small design of
the sensor probe, the device can
be installed almost anywhere.
The explosion-proof, temporary
and portable power distribution
station from Larson Electronics
converts a three-phase 600 V(AC)
electrical current into threephase
208 Y/120 V(AC). The system
allows operators to power
their 120 V equipment from a
single system. The primary side
gives operators the ability to
connect three-phase 600 V linein
power using a customer-provided
cord and a secondary side
that gives access to two explosion-proof
receptacles for
120 V equipment. All receptacles
on this unit are equipped with
weatherproof covers.
Larson Electronics’ power distribution
system is rated for use
in class I, divisions 1 and 2,
goups B and C; and class II,
divisions 1 and 2, groups E, F
and G hazardous locations. The
transformer is grounded to the
frame via a grounding lug that is
provided.
