THE CAUSE Elephant Gin gives back to the land that inspired the gin in the first place. 15% of all Elephant Gin proceeds are donated to support the work of three partner foundations that are helping to save the African elephant from extinction. DID YOU KNOW? One African elephant dies every 15 minutes because of uncontrolled ivory poaching. At this rate, the African elephant will be extinct in 10 years. 10
WORK WITH FOUNDATIONS Elephant Gin has already contributed up to EUR350,000 to select projects. At Big Life Foundation, Elephant Gin is funding 30 of 250 rangers that are currently protecting 2 million acres of wilderness in Kenya by providing training, salary payments and equipments such as rucksacks, tents and mosquito nets. With Space for Elephants, Elephant Gin is focused on getting communities involved by creating employment opportunities to counter wildlife poaching. Among other project, Elephant Gin has built an education center to train the community to learn about wildlife and become entrepreneurs in the environmental, sales and tourism business. Exclusively with the miniatures, Elephant Gin supports The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust known as the most successful orphanelephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. Its elephant orphanage near Nairobi nurtures baby elephants who have been found in the wild - often either left behind when their mother dies due to poaching or other human intervention. Each baby elephant has a dedicated team member to nurse them back to strength and to rear them to join their own herd of ex-orphans. 11
