second birthday<br />
A steamroller, a fire and a strong Nor’wester is said to be where The Flaming Rabbit<br />
got its name. The 1932 fire spread so quickly from Rolleston to Springston and<br />
Lincoln that everything in its path was decimated.<br />
The Flaming Rabbit is <strong>Selwyn</strong>’s home of in-house dry-aged beef, where owners Paul<br />
and Tessa raise the South Devon cattle, used in their ageing chiller process, on their<br />
Weedons lifestyle property.<br />
The popular Lincoln bar and restaurant offers friendly dining with a strong focus on<br />
beef and dry aged beef, along with a selection of Monteith’s and Heineken beers plus<br />
a range of local wines and cocktails.<br />
Throughout the year, The Flaming Rabbit hosts a number of events including their famous<br />
wine club on the first Wednesday of the month, Beef ‘n’ Beer dinners, Bottomless Brunches<br />
(26th <strong>July</strong>), Whisky Evenings (12 Aug), Bubbles Evening (23 Sept) and Gin evening (14 Oct).<br />
Regular specials Monday to Wednesday include Gold Card lunches available 7 days until<br />
3pm, $9 kids meals and Thursday, $20 Curries.<br />
Manager Byron is a keen multi sportsman; the restaurant actively supports local sports<br />
groups - Lincoln cricket and Springston rugby – and features live sports coverage on all<br />
their big screens.<br />
