7 Conclusion CECED DW Ringtest Comparing the current accuracy to those achieved in ringtest no. 3 of Cenelec TC 59X WG2 (see A), the current seem equal or slightly worse. An improvement of accuracy cannot be clearly observed, but nevertheless is possible since this ringtest takes into account more laboratories and as well those laboratories with fewer testing experience. Furthermore no test before has been done with two sets of machines. Following conclusions may be taken for results achieved under EN 50242:A3 when measured in different laboratories: • Measurement of cleaning performance may differ up to two classes • Measurement of drying performance may differ up to three classes • Measurement of energy consumption seems reasonable within one class • Improvement and alignment of the laboratory practise is necessary • A need to clarify certain points in the standard has been identified • Regular ring-testing is necessary to exchange experience and align and verify laboratory practise Annotations The accuracy analysis does not regard possible exceedings of the reference machine operation limits given in the standard. If this had been the case, far more laboratories would have been removed from calculations. 34
