class designed as an inspiring introduction to the basics of music. Each age-<br />

appropriate class features solfege singing (do, re, mi) <strong>and</strong> ear training exercises<br />

that lead to inner hearing as well as neuromuscular feeling for music. Enjoy musical<br />

activities including dancing, singing, playing keyboards, rhythm instruments <strong>and</strong><br />

through this energetic class designed as a rich introduction to the basics of music<br />

theory <strong>and</strong> practice. Each age-appropriate class features solfege singing (do, re,<br />

mi) <strong>and</strong> ear training exercises that lead to inner hearing as well as neuromuscular<br />

feeling for music. Students will enjoy reading <strong>and</strong> writing music, exploring rhythm<br />

instruments <strong>and</strong> keyboards, learning to conduct, improvising <strong>and</strong> composing. Friends<br />

<strong>and</strong> family will enjoy performances during a “Show Time” on the last day of class.<br />

Training for<br />

<strong>Fall</strong> Sports Begins<br />

Special Olympics Howard County offers a year-round<br />

program of sports training <strong>and</strong> competition for individuals<br />

<strong>with</strong> intellectual disabilities. Participants must be at<br />

least eight years old to begin training <strong>and</strong> competition.<br />

There is no charge for programs. A signed medical<br />

evaluation must be on fi le prior to participation <strong>and</strong> all<br />

interested athletes must register prior to the start of<br />

the season.<br />
