Why OHMPA?
We asked some of our members to talk about
what being a member of OHMPA means to
them. Here’s what they had to say:

K J Beamish Construction has always been a proud
supporter of OHMPA and the work they do. We have
come to count on the quick reaction and expertise they
can bring to an industry issue or concern. Over the years,
as issues arise we inevitably hear the same question from
our management team, “What is OHMPA doing about
this?” In almost every case we’ve found that OHMPA
is already on the case and an action plan is being developed
or already implemented on industry’s behalf.

As a member of the Membership Committee
I was asked why my company joined OHMPA.
First of all, if you are going to serve an industry,
you must understand the industry. The library and
seminars that OHMPA holds throughout the year are
top notch by international standards, and the members
are so co-operative and supportive that you keep upto-date
on real time developments in construction.
We are a supplier of what would be called “fringe
products”, not part of the actual asphalt, but extremely
important when missing from the process. Yet we
receive the same respect and consideration as the
largest producers.
The opportunities to advertise and promote the
company’s products to a targeted audience through
Asphaltopics, as well as the spring and fall seminars,
means no wasted dollars in your marketing budget.
OHMPA’s social events give us the opportunity to talk
informally about the concerns and challenges of the
business with people who know and care about producing
the best possible roads for the traveling public.
OHMPA as an organization is amazing. These companies
will wrestle each other to the ground when submitting
a quote, but will share any new process or development
they have come up with to raise the standard of the
asphalt paving product for the customer and the industry.
Membership in OHMPA has helped MultiSolv promote
our products and develop strong relationships with our
customers. We have experienced double digit growth
each year since joining OHMPA in 2002.

Foss Transport’s invaluable membership with OHMPA has
been a significant conduit for educating, networking and
sharing insights within the association’s industry through
their many seminars and events. Thank you to all of those
committed and involved in the growth of this association.

The asphalt producers in Ontario, specifically in the
Greater Toronto Area, have always been one of Dufferin
Aggregates most important client segments. During my
33 year tenure with Dufferin Aggregates, I have been
responsible for all asphalt-related issues. OHMPA
has given me the opportunity to meet and develop
relationships with the pioneers of the asphalt industry.
At a very young age I was in OHMPA meetings with
presidents and executives of all key asphalt producers
in Ontario. I can thank OHMPA for the friendships
developed in the industry and all the key contacts
acquired through the networking with this association.
