Panama Canal Commission<br />

The Panama Canal Commission recently<br />

issued a check for more than $580,000 to<br />

Houston-based Exxon Shipping Co., settling a<br />

dispute between the two organizations. Exxon<br />

Shipping president Frank Iarossi, left,<br />

receives the check from U.S. Rep. Jack Fields.<br />

The congressman co-authored a bill to speed<br />

up claims procedures against the PCC by<br />

companies whose vessels are damaged in the<br />

Panama Canal. Exxon claims its vessel EX-<br />

XON WASHINGTON was damaged in the<br />

waterway.<br />
