FORD<br />
Harley Edward Ford, 94, passed away on Aug. 18,<br />
<strong>2020</strong>. Harley enjoyed farming and being outside with his<br />
dogs and cattle. He was preceded in death by: his wife of<br />
67 years, Dorothy Ford; parents, Nellie and Charles Ford;<br />
and sister, Delores Elliott. Harley is survived by: his children,<br />
Lois Ford, Debbie (Brad) Cavener, Phyliss Ford, and<br />
Dale Ford; sisters-in-law, Betty (Wendell) Bowdle and Gloria<br />
Case; grandchildren, Scott (Megan) Batson, Ashley<br />
(Ben) Rine, Ashley (Joseph) Clark, Craig Wilson; greatgrandchildren,<br />
Kyler and Kade Batson, David Balling,<br />
Levi Wilson, Harley, and Jackson Clark. Funeral services<br />
were held on Aug. 21 at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home,<br />
Mount Sterling. Interment was held at Bethel Cemetery.<br />

SEVERS<br />
Fred Severs Sr., 90, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away<br />
on Aug. 19, <strong>2020</strong>. Born in Springfield, Ohio, Fred was a<br />
graduate of Fairfield High School and a veteran of the<br />
United States Army, Korean War. He retired in 1992<br />
from Roadway Express where he was a truck driver for<br />
nearly 33 years. Fred and his wife were members of<br />
Canaan Land Baptist Church. Fred was preceded in<br />
death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by:<br />
his beloved wife, Elnora “Sis” Severs; daughter, Tess<br />
(Jim) Duncan; son, Fred (Brenda) Severs Jr.; grandchildren,<br />
Lee (Kate) Duncan, Tiffany (Ray) Myers, Natalie<br />
(Jason) Maier, Josh (Paula) Severs; great-grandchildren,<br />
<strong>Madison</strong>, Morgan, Trinity and Jackson; sister-inlaw,<br />
Patty Henson and family. A funeral service was<br />
held Aug. 24 at Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home,<br />

ARBOGAST<br />
William E. “Eddy” Arbogast III, 79, of Mount Sterling,<br />
Ohio, went home to the Lord on Aug. 20, <strong>2020</strong>.<br />
Born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Kathryn and Edwin<br />
Arbogast II, he was a graduate of Millersburg Military<br />
Institute. Eddy retired from Ohio Willow Wood Co. in<br />
2010 after a lifetime of service. He was a member of<br />
Cornerstone Christian Church in Circleville, Ohio, and<br />
a member of the Knights of Pythias, 194 Talmadge<br />
Lodge in Mount Sterling. In addition to his parents,<br />
Eddy was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Arbogast,<br />
and his first wife, Vicky Arbogast. He is survived<br />
by: his wife, Charlotte; brother, Robert (Pat) Arbogast;<br />
sisters, Judy Gorun and Susan (Robert) Tolle; nieces<br />
and nephews, Michelle Arbogast, Lisa Arbogast, Leslie<br />
Arbogast, Ryan (Angela) Arbogast, DeAnn Gorun-<br />
Baker, Derek (Crystal) Nixon and Emily Nixon and<br />
their families; step-children, Lynnette (Tim) Warner,<br />
Sherri (Ed) Spriggs, Kimberly Riddle, Sonny Riddle and<br />
Harold Riddle; and several step-grandchildren and<br />
step-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held<br />
on Aug. 24 at Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Sterling with<br />

WENDEL<br />
Doralee Wendel, 80, of West Jefferson died on Aug.<br />
21, <strong>2020</strong>. She was preceded in death by: husband,<br />
George M. Wendel; parents, Larry and Eileen Beasley;<br />
sister, Debbie Terry; and brother, Jimmy Beasley. She<br />
is survived by: children, Pam Hutchison and Christine<br />
(Bryan) Haenszel; grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Wood,<br />
Conner, Blake and <strong>Madison</strong> Haenszel; great-grandson,<br />
Gregory Wood; brothers, Larry (Myra), Earl, Mike<br />
(Joni), John and Jerry Beasley; sisters, Caroline<br />
Beasley of California, Jean (Tony) Caldwell of Alabama<br />
and Janet Beasley. She was Aunt Dee Dee to many<br />
nieces and nephews. Doralee was a member of Zion<br />
Lutheran Church of West Jefferson, retired from Sears<br />
and Roebuck, and later served Meals on Wheels in<br />
<strong>Madison</strong> County. She also led the children’s storytime<br />
program at Hurt-Battelle Memorial Library in West<br />
Jefferson. Doralee was an avid fan of the Ohio State<br />
Buckeyes and the West Jefferson Roughriders. At West<br />
Jefferson football games, she was known as the “WJ<br />
Spirited Fan” or “The Bell Lady.” She enjoyed the company<br />
of many close friends in various activities, including<br />
the Shawl Sisters. She was a 1957 graduate of West<br />
High School. Funeral services were held on Aug. 27 at<br />
Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral Home in West Jefferson<br />
with Pastor Larry Baker officiating. Memorial donations<br />

WINTERS<br />
David E. Winters, 84, of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed<br />
away on Aug. 21, <strong>2020</strong>. Dave was well known and loved<br />
by everyone in the community. Dave was a proud Navy<br />
veteran and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign<br />
Wars Post 7003. He loved taking yearly trips to Florida<br />
with his wife, Linda. The children in the community<br />
knew him as Santa. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles,<br />
hunting and being outdoors. You could always count on<br />
him to make you laugh with his orneriness. He was preceded<br />
in death by: his parents, Ferol and Hazel Winters;<br />
brothers, Vernon Winters and Bud Winters; and sister,<br />
June Handcock. He is survived by: his loving wife of 55<br />
years, Linda (Frasher) Winters; children, Rebecca<br />
(Bruce) Baker, David (Maria) Winters Jr., Katrina Winters,<br />
and Pam (Coy) Adams; grandchildren, Kenzie<br />
(Walid) Abdeljabbar, Kirstin Winters, Debra Koepka,<br />
Daniel Winters, Samantha Winters, Sharon Gonzalez,<br />
Brandy Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Derek Stiles, Brandon<br />
Winters and Coy Lee Adams; numerous greatgrandchildren;<br />
and a host of friends, all who loved him<br />
and will miss him deeply. The family will hold a celebration<br />
of life get-together at Oak Grove Tavern at 1 p.m.<br />

McCOY (BETTY)<br />
Betty Jo McCoy, 84, of London went to be with our Lord on Aug.<br />
22, <strong>2020</strong>. She loved God and her family more than anything else. She<br />
was so wonderful, sweet, funny, and had the world's biggest heart.<br />
We are all better people because of her. Her strength was inspiring<br />
to all who knew her. She was immediately special to anyone who met<br />
her. She loved to make everyone smile. She will be deeply missed.<br />
She was preceded in death by: her loving husband who adored her,<br />
James McCoy; her daughters, Donna Rinehart and Shelly McCoy;<br />
granddaughter, Maddie Underwood; father, Howard Jones; stepmother,<br />
Virginia Jones; mother, Eva Parks; brother, Fred Jones; sister,<br />
Lula Ramey; sons-in-law, Gary Sandfor and Tim Underwood.<br />
She is survived by: her daughters, Teresa Sandfor and Pam Underwood;<br />
grandchildren, Martina (Kevin) Henry, James (Utasha) Miller,<br />
Kristi (Avery) Hayes, Shawn Hall, and Lessie (Shaun) O'Harra;<br />
great-grandchildren, Austin and Kylee Henry, Katie, Trevor and<br />
Erin Miller, Lanie Wilkerson, Nik Hayes, Braeden Hayes, Seth,<br />
Kendra and Shane O’Harra; son-in-law, Tracy Mann; many relatives<br />
in the McCoy and Jones families; along with many friends. The family<br />
held a private service on Aug. 25 at Community Freewill Baptist<br />
Church, West Jefferson, with Pastor Jerry Newman officiating. Burial<br />
followed at Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Rader-McDonald-Tidd<br />
Funeral Home assisted the McCoy family.<br />
McCOY (RICHARD)<br />
Richard E. McCoy Sr., 78, of Darbyville went to Heaven to be with<br />
the Lord on Aug. 22 while at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital.<br />
Born in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Frances and Rollo McCoy Sr.,<br />
he was also preceded in death by: his siblings, Donald McCoy, Rollo<br />
McCoy Jr. and Karen Estep. He is survived by: his beloved wife of<br />
50 years, Delores McCoy; his children, Richard (Dawn) McCoy Jr.,<br />
William McCoy, Allen (Theresa) McCoy and Rhonda (Dwayne) Bode;<br />
five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law,<br />
Lawrence (Tami) Dotson; many other loving relatives and friends;<br />
and his special fur-baby girl, Chloe. Dick loved the church and his<br />
Lord. He was a member of New Beginnings Freewill Baptist Church<br />
and the YMCA of Circleville. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and<br />
spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. A special<br />
thank-you is sent to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of Mount<br />
Carmel Grove City Hospital 4th Floor and ICU for your dedication<br />
and care. Thank you! A funeral service was held on Aug. 28 with Pastor<br />
Dave Bowens and Pastor Denver Peters officiating. Burial followed<br />
at Muhlenburg-Darbyville Cemetery, Darbyville. Due to the<br />
coronavirus pandemic, social distancing as observed and guests were<br />
