Case IH is rolling out its AFS Connect Magnum tractor series
across Australia and New Zealand, after a sneak peek at last
year’s AgQuip Field Days.
Equipped with updated features such as an automotive-style
cabin as well as a refined armrest, the tractors are said to offer
new levels of connectivity and remote monitoring.
Case IH high horsepower product manager for Australia and
New Zealand Alyx Selsmeyer says the new AFS Magnum allows
farmers to precisely manage the farm, fleet and data anywhere,
anytime from a desktop or tablet.
“The AFS Connect portal is the key to this series of tractor,
giving the customer a view of the field operations, fleet
information and agronomic data from their preferred device,
wherever they are, and also allowing for the sharing of this
information with trusted third parties,” she says.
The AFS Connect offers new innovations including remote
display viewing and remote servicing from a Case IH dealer, as
well as increased integration and customisation – allowing the
operator to configure electronics to simplify day-to-day tasks.
User definable short-cut keys, customisable remote paddles
and the ISOBUS Aux-N compatible multi-function handle and
joystick all help to reduce cab clutter, while the refined encoder
knob, MultiControl Armrest and a MultiFunction Handle with
four programmable hot key buttons, put control directly at the
operator’s fingertips.
Early feedback from Australian farmers has been promising,
with farmer Daniel Elias saying he had been impressed with the
Magnum’s performance during a four-month trial on his property
near Tamworth, NSW.
“The level of technology the tractor had was very evident,
and one of the things I really liked was that while a lot of
functions in previous models are factory-set, with the AFS
Connect Magnum you can adjust the functions and adjust them
easily,” he says
“It had really good power to ground, rode really well and during
cultivation it pulled nicely.”
Matt Davey, who farms near Kadina in South Australia, added
that he was impressed with the Magnum’s technical advances.
“They’ve done a lot of good things inside with regards to the
new-look cab and I really liked the new screen. Its features are
impressive and there are things there that will definitely benefit
less experienced operators,” he says.
The AFS Connect Magnum will be available in 200 to 400hp
(149 to 298kW) wheeled models, and 340hp, 380hp and 400hp
(254kW, 283kW and 298kW) Rowtrac models. Contact your local
