So before we know it, Autumn is
upon us.
It looks a little different this year.
For a start we now know that
there is to be no Goose Fair, one
of the city’s largest annual events,
and at the time of going to print,
live entertainment, not just in
Nottingham but around the country,
is still on hold. Thankfully there are
still plenty of things to do and events
taking place all over the County.
Here’s my pick for this October and
November in Notts.
The Nottingham Wise Owl Walk
is running throughout October until
November 6th. Ten decorative Owls
have taken up residency thanks to
Nottingham Business Improvement
District (BID). Their aim is to attract
families and visitors back into the
City Centre. Every Owl is completely
unique and has been created by Wild
in Art. The goal is to find each Owl,
which is the proud owner of a single
letter - Find them all and crack the
code to reveal the secret sentence of
Nottingham’s Wise Owls.
The Nottingham Robin Hood Beer
and Cider Festival was put back to
November (still going ahead at the
time of going to print - proposed
dates 18-21 November) with
tickets hopefully going on sale in
October. Check the website for the

Events at Papplewick Pumping
Station were postponed but have
returned with limited numbers.
Admission is now by pre-purchased
online ticket only via Eventbrite
and the attraction’s media pages.
Steaming Days are due to take
place on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18
October (1940’s Weekend).
A condensed edition of the
Mayhem Film Festival will still take
place at the Broadway Cinema
(15-18 October) showcasing
the essence of what makes
Mayhem Mayhem. http://www.

And whilst we’re talking about
cinema, for a socially distanced
cinema experience, Bonington
Cinema in Arnold has comfy
seating for 24 people. Booking
is essential. Check out their

Halloween Week Outdoor Cinema
is coming to Nottingham with a
host of classic and cult movies
for you at the stunning Wollaton
Hall! Following all social distancing
guidelines, you will be provided with
your own pre-spaced deckchairs so
you can sit back and enjoy the film
safely. Bookings are for a minimum
of 2 people but larger groups are
welcome. Choose from The Shining,
Hocus Pocus, GhostBusters and
The Lost Boys.
If you’re a fan of all things spooky
and paranormal, The Haunted
Museum and Cinema in Mapperley
is now back open daily Thurs - Sat
and is well worth a visit. They also
have a visit from medium Andrew
Roberts (23 October) or you can
join the team for an overnight
ghost hunt Halloween Special (31
October).
Thoresby Park have a few events
scheduled to take place. The
Pawsby Dog Show is scheduled
for 25 October. Bringing you fun for
all the family with demonstrations,
have a go activities and a fun dog
show, and we begin to see the
first Christmas markets taking
place as their annual Winter Fest
is still planned to go ahead 28-29

Patchings Art Centre will also open
their doors to over 50 exhibitors for
their annual Christmas Market (27-
29 November). All exhibitors have
been selected because they design
and make their own stock, ensuring
the pieces created are individual.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without
a pantomime and we’re told that
the Nottingham Playhouse annual
pantomime will still be going ahead
in some form. At the time of going
to print we’re not quite sure on the
details, but they are endeavouring
to make sure you don’t miss out on
any of the usual fun this Christmas.

November.
