towards the topic.

Organic fertilizer and its

definition; Composting ,

Types of Composting and its

Benefits; Urban Gardening, its

Definition, Types and Factors

to consider; and Vegetative

Propagation, its Definition,

Characteristics,

Importance, Types

and Bad effects/

Disadvantages.

According to

the discussant,

composting connotes

the art of making

organic fertilizer from

decomposed organic

materials. Several

kinds of composting

were also mentioned

such as On Site, Aerated

Window Composting, Aerated

Static Pile Composting, Invessel

Composting and

Vermicomposting. He even

mentioned the benefits of

composting at home and in

the community. In addition,

he also explained what is

Urban Gardening. According

to him it is beneficial to man,

community and environment.

He emphasized that with

or without enough space at

home , we can still plant as

long as there are available

containers for plants.

Vegetative Propagation

was also discussed by the

discussant. According to him

it is a cloning, vegetative

reproduction and vegetative

multiplication. There are

two kinds of Vegetative

Propagation that can be used

to propagate plants. These

are the Natural means and

Artificial means. In

the first kind we

can use runners,

bulbs, corms, keikis,

cuttings and grafting.

Whereas the latter

we have marcotting

and layering. In the

last part of his talk he

demonstrated how

to do marcotting and

grafting. That, he

gained the all eyed of

the audience and participants

making the topic more

interesting and enjoyable.

After each session in three

consecutive days, there

was a question and answer

portion where the attendees

addressed their queries to

the speaker/facilitator. There

were activities to tackle

where attendees engaged

themselves supportively.

The webinar was truly

a successful one because

everyone who joined wore a

smile and learned something

about it.
