Wants to be MP for Selwyn
to make a difference as an independent
and support the recovery
from the impacts of Covid-19.
“As an independent candidate
I do not have to align with party
polices and I will work with all
parties, MPs and government for
the benefit of expanding Selwyn.”
Three priorities for Selwyn
are:
Health – Advocate for mental
health services to be provided
locally iand reduce the cost of
dental healthcare.
Education – Provide free
tertiary education for all Selwyn
residents young and old to retrain
our workforce for the post
Covid-19 world, which will also
support our tertiary sector.
Water – Improve the quality of
drinking water and clean up our
rivers by actively supporting local
farmers.
Three main characteristics
an MP needs to serve their constituents:
Open – Be honest, do not lie
and take personal responsibility
for mistakes
Considerate – Listen to constituents
and support their views
Objective – Achieving policy
aims effectively and on time
Cannabis Legalisation and
Control Bill: Likely to vote yes.
Legalising recreational cannabis
will be able to better control
the quality of supply. There needs
to be robust testing for driving
and industries that involve operating
machinery .
I last used cannabis in 1986
when taking my finals at university
and I passed with honours!
I do not currently use cannabis
medicinally or otherwise.
End of Life Choice Bill: Will
probably vote yes. My view is that
we should all have the choice to
die with dignity. I can confirm
that I will probably be voting yes
in this referendum.

Implement ACT’s five-point
costed plan for our economic
recovery, including tax cuts,
lowering debt and returning to
surplus sooner.
Repeal the Firearms Legislation
Act, including the threat of a
firearms “register” .
Support hard working rural
people, which includes replacing
the Resource Management Act.
Three main characteristics an
MP needs to serve their constituents:
Provide easy access and communication
for the Selwyn community.
Show the persistence and determination
already demonstrated
by David Seymour and Brooke
van Velden when they pushed
through the EOLC Act.
Make decisions based on ACT
Party principles of respecting the
freedoms and rights of the individual.
The freedom of speech so
hard fought by previous generations
should be protected at all
costs.
Cannabis Legalisation and
Control Bill: Likey to vote yes.

country for our citizens.”

End of Life Choice Bill: The
EOLC offers people like me, who
live with terminal cancer, the
comfort of knowing that we can
choose a death with dignity, that
reflects the life we have led. That
choice should be afforded all NZers
who fit the strict criteria such
as being mentally competent and
within six months of death.

Cannabis Legalisation and
Control Bill: The Bill’s main
purpose is to reduce cannabisrelated
harm to individuals,
families/whānau and communities.
I don’t think our current system
works. Voting yes will ensure

that we can regulate the use of
marijuana to better manage
health impacts and minimise the
harm to our communities
I tried cannabis a long time
ago, I didn’t enjoy it and I don’t
use it.
End of Life Choice Act: I
believe that people who are suffering
from terminal illnesses
should have the option of a dignified
death on their own terms. I
will be supporting the End of Life
Choice Act.

A permanent speed limit has now been set for West Melton.
From 12 October 2020, the permanent speed limit in West
Melton is 60km/h from 500m east of Weedons Ross Road
to 470m west of Weedons Ross Road.
The setting of the permanent speed limits follows public
