SEE RECORD PROCEEDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
SCHOLARSHIP SCRAMBLE
The Heartland Community College Foundation held its 18th Annual Scholarship
Scramble in late summer 2009 at the Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington. Proceeds
from the event raised more than $20,000, marking a 25 percent increase above
2008’s prior record of $16,000.
More than 120 golfers participated in the scramble–one of the Foundation’s most
popular events. Golfers were provided with a catered lunch and had the chance to
win several generously donated prizes. Heartland Foundation Executive Director
Helen Katz congratulated participants and supporters of the event. “Heartland
students can benefit in greater numbers because of your involvement. We are
pleased and thankful for your onging partnership with the College. The funds
raised at this event go a long way toward providing opportunities to students who
otherwise may not have the chance to pursue higher education.”
2010. The annual outing supports endowed and annual scholarships for deserving
Livingston County students whose studies focus on business and industry.
The event was a tremendous success because of the generosity of contributors.
Over $33,000 was raised by friends of both the College and Caterpillar Fuel
Systems as they came together at the Elks Lodge and Golf Club in Pontiac to
