The number of <strong>Heartland</strong> nursing program graduates passing<br />
the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) continued<br />
to exceed national and state standards. Ninety-three percent<br />
of <strong>Heartland</strong>’s <strong>2009</strong>-10 nursing graduates passed the Illinois<br />
NCLEX—a required exam offered to the state’s nursing program<br />
graduates that certifies and licenses nurses in Illinois.<br />
Since <strong>Heartland</strong> first offered its nursing curriculum in 1993,<br />
the program has graduated 378 students with nursing degrees<br />
from the <strong>College</strong>.<br />
As the nation’s health care industry<br />
grows, full-time registered nurses who<br />
have earned a <strong>Heartland</strong> nursing degree<br />
continue to secure steady regional<br />
employment—often with average <strong>annual</strong><br />
salaries exceeding $50,000.<br />
