Annual coat drive a huge success at Mission Farm Mission Farm’s annual coat drive was a huge success Veteran’s weekend of November 2020. The greater Killington community came through again this year donating over six extra-large bins of winter outerwear, a pair of boots, a dozen homemade masks and $500 for the purchase of boots and socks. This year’s donations went to the Dodge House Veteran’s Assistance Office to support Veterans in Rutland County. Christina Morgan the Executive Director of the Dodge House was overwhelmed by the generosity of the donations and expressed her sincere thanks to Mission Farm and the greater Killington Community. She said, winter is quickly approaching she already had multiple requests for winter coats and boots. The outerwear will be given away free of charge to veterans in need. Morgan said since January 2020, the Dodge House gave over 800 assists to local veterans. Assists include (but aren’t limited to) help with housing, clothing and food access. Miracle is a global pop-up concept that started in New York in 2014; it partners with bars and restaurants around the world to offer masterfully crafted Christmas cocktails in cheery holiday-themed settings. Arriving for the first time ever at Main + Mountain, Miracle on Main Street will kick off Nov. 27 and run through Dec. 31. The whimsical pop-up will spread much needed holiday cheer with over the top nostalgic décor and a themed cocktail menu, which will offer fan favorite drinks including the Christmapolitan, Snowball Old-Fashioned, and Yippie Ki Yay Mother F****r! The venue is also offering to-go versions of its festive menu for those who wish to celebrate the season at home. This year, Miracle will donate 10% of all proceeds from the sale of Santa Pants, Christmas Carol Barrel and Santa Heads signature glassware to the James Beard Foundation Open for Good campaign to aid the relief efforts of independent restaurants. Making its debut on Dec. 2, Miracle at Wolf Tree features a holiday oasis with elaborate twinkly lights, vintage garlands, reindeer figurines, and a themed cocktail menu. Some acclaimed drinks will include the Christmas Carol Barrel, SanTaRex, and Bad Santa – all served in kitschy glassware. For guests wanting to celebrate at home, the pop-up will also offer to-go versions of its themed cocktails. In the spirit of giving, a percentage of proceeds will benefit JAG Productions – a contemporary African-American community theatre producing diverse stories.
