We present the complex working world of architects and show architecture in<br />
all its emotionality and fascination. The most exciting architectural projects are<br />
published and documented by us. We present outstanding interior design and<br />
design innovations and interview the most important heads of the industry. In locally<br />
researched reports and exclusive essays, we address the central questions of the<br />

Das mehrstöckige Bürogebäude der<br />
Steuer- und Anwaltskanzlei Michl in Bad<br />
Kreuznach zeigt, was Licht bewirken kann<br />
– nicht nur in Innenräumen, sondern auch<br />
in der Außenwirkung.<br />
Durch die Wahl der LED-Leuchten, die<br />
allesamt aus der ausgezeichneten „Puk-<br />
World“-Serie von Top Light stammen, ist<br />
Lichtplaner Hans Josef Henrich eine ideale<br />
Symbiose gelungen: Die Licht- und<br />
Schattenspiele erzeugen bemerkenswerte<br />
Effekte im und am Gebäude – somit<br />
nicht nur im repräsentativen Innenbereich,<br />
sondern auch von außen betrachtet,<br />
besonders dann, wenn es draußen<br />
dunkel wird.<br />
Im zentralen Treppenhaus, dem Herzstück<br />
des Hauses, wurden die Wandleuchten<br />
„Puk Wall“ verwendet. Die<br />
schlichte, aber ansprechende Leuchte<br />
schafft eine funktionale, aber stimmungsvolle<br />
Beleuchtung im Eingangsbereich.<br />
Die Lichtspiele an der Wand, die eben<br />
auch von außen sichtbar sind, lockern<br />
die Atmosphäre im Treppenhaus auf. In<br />
den Innenräumen werden sowohl die<br />
Deckenleuchten „Puk Turn“ als auch die<br />
Pendelleuchten „Puk Drop“ verwendet.<br />
Über dem Tresen im Eingangsbereich erzeugen<br />
die Pendelleuchten dank ihrer<br />
komplexen Linse ein beeindruckendes<br />
Lichtspiel, das die Kunden und Gäste des<br />
Gebäudes eindrucksvoll begrüßt. So<br />
schaffen die Leuchten nicht nur einen<br />
besonderen Hingucker, der neben der<br />
effektiven Lichtgebung auch für eine angenehme<br />
Stimmung sorgt, sondern die<br />
Deckenleuchtenvariante kommt in Bad<br />
Kreuznach auch zum Einsatz, wenn Gemälde<br />

Dem Architekturbüro Franz & Sue aus<br />
Wien gelang es, mit einem durchdachten<br />
Konzept und einigen einschneidenden<br />
Veränderungen dem Justizgebäude<br />
in Salzburg den autoritären Charakter<br />
zu nehmen und zu einem offenen Ort der<br />
Begegnung umzugestalten. Daneben<br />
spielte das Thema Nachhaltigkeit bei der<br />
Sanierung des Landesgerichts eine besondere<br />
Rolle. Zentrale Vorgabe für die<br />
Umgestaltung war es, nur qualitativ hochwertige<br />
und ökologisch unbedenkliche<br />
Produkte zu verwenden. Diese Maxime<br />
galt natürlich auch für das Fassadenmaterial.<br />

eines Unternehmens nach außen und sagt viel über dessen Kultur und Identität<br />

Jeder der acht Türme<br />
des Moskauer Großprojekts<br />
„Vander Park“ ist<br />
in mehrere Segmente<br />
unterteilt, die sich<br />
durch ihre Ziegelfarbe<br />
und Art der Fensteröffnungen<br />
unterscheiden.<br />
Der Moskauer Apartmentkomplex „Vander<br />
Park“ ist als städtebauliches Ensemble<br />
konzipiert, das sich aus acht unterschiedlich<br />
ausgebildeten Wohntürmen<br />
zusammensetzt. Alle Türme stehen auf<br />
einer gemeinsamen 6 m hohen Basis.<br />
Die Zusammenstellung der Türme ist in erkennbare<br />
segmentierte Volumina unterteilt,<br />
die in Bezug auf die Ziegelfarbe und<br />
Art der Fensteröffnungen variieren. Dadurch<br />
entsteht der Eindruck einer in die<br />
Höhe gebauten Stadt.<br />
Die Türme sind für eine Maximierung der<br />
Tageslichtbeleuchtung gegeneinander<br />
gedreht, in kleinere Baukörper geteilt<br />
und mit verschiedenfarbigen Klinkern<br />
verkleidet. So entstand nach Entwurf des<br />
Büros de Architekten Cie. aus Amsterdam<br />
ein Komplex, der multiple Ansichten in<br />
sich vereint. Für die Fassadengestaltung<br />
kamen sechs verschiedene Hagemeister-<br />

Design Award 2018<br />
prämiert.<br />
Sortierungen zum Einsatz, die sich in Textur<br />
und Farbe unterscheiden: Lübeck GT,<br />
Kopenhagen BA, Luca GT+FU, Weimar HS,<br />
Liverpool GT+FU und Woerden Alt GT. Mit<br />
diesen Sortierungen wurden fünf Fassadenentwürfe<br />
mit je einer anderen Mauerwerksumsetzung<br />
entwickelt. Die Architekten<br />
wählten für die etwa 28.000 m2<br />
großen Fassadenflächen besonders lange,<br />
schmale Klinker, bei denen die Verbindungen<br />
zwischen den Ziegeln in den<br />
Hintergrund treten. Auch alle anderen<br />
Fassadenmaterialien wurden so gewählt,<br />
dass sie den Ziegel als dominantes Fassadenmaterial<br />
unterstützen und nicht mit<br />
ihm konkurrieren. Aufgrund der Härte des<br />
Klinkers behält dieser über Jahrhunderte<br />
seine Farbe, Textur und Qualität, so dass<br />
die Fassaden des Gebäudeensembles<br />
auch in Zukunft so vielfältig in Erscheinung<br />
treten werden wie zu ihrer Bauzeit.<br />

Park ein lebendiges<br />
Fassadenbild.<br />
Unweit der ehemaligen Schöller-Eisfabrik<br />
in Nürnberg liegt das Grundstück des<br />
<strong>neu</strong>en Schöller-Parks. Auf einer Gesamtfläche<br />
von 10.000 m2 entstehen hier auf<br />
dem ehemaligen Privatgrundstück des<br />
Unternehmerehepaares Theo und Friedl<br />
Schöller zehn Stadtvillen. Entworfen haben<br />
sie die Architekten ATT im Auftrag der<br />
Schöller-Familienstiftung. In den zehn kubischen<br />
Wohnhäusern mit zwei, drei und<br />
vier Stockwerken sind 80 Wohnungen mit<br />
60 bis 140 m2 Wohnfläche untergebracht.<br />
Die Baukörper definieren aufgrund ihrer<br />
versetzten Positionen auf dem Grundstück<br />
dabei großzügige Außenräume, die<br />
das Wohnen durch den gewachsenen<br />
Baumbestand besonders attraktiv machen.<br />
Die gemeinsame Materialität einer<br />
Klinkerfassade lässt die Stadtvillen und<br />
das dazugehörige Parkhaus dabei<br />
zu einer Einheit verschmelzen. Zusammen<br />

OBJEKT:<br />
Schöller-Park (zehn<br />
mit den Architekten entschieden sich<br />
die Bauherren für einen Klinker von Gima,<br />
und zwar in der Farbe Elmo FKSG. Verbaut<br />
wurden vier verschiedene Formate des<br />
gelochten und ungelochten Klinkers in<br />
zweischaliger Bauweise. Seine bräunlichgraue<br />
Farbigkeit entsteht durch eine<br />
spezielle Brenntechnik und den extremen<br />
Kohlebrand über dem Schmelzpunkt.<br />
Die Zugabe des natürlichen Mineralstoffs<br />
Salz beim Brand lässt auf dem Ziegel gewisse<br />
Glanzpunkte entstehen. Zudem<br />
schafft das Wasserstrich-Strangpressverfahren<br />
eine besonders widerstandsfähige<br />
Oberfläche, die in ihrer Struktur rustikal<br />
und edel zugleich wirkt. Der Klinker weist<br />
sehr gute physikalische Eigenschaften<br />
auf, ist robust, natürlich und ökologisch.<br />
