Dear Intercessors
PERSEVERENCE and PRODUCTIVITY DESPITE PANDEMIC PANIC
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
Bad Times are Good for Spiritual Work
Despite the Lockdown lunacy and unprecedented
travel restrictions of 2020, we managed to adapt,
persevere and remain productive. By responding
decisively to the revolutionary agenda advanced in
the name of combatting a virus, I received many
international radio and TV interview opportunities
through an array of online platforms, including
Audacity, Pod bean, Skype, WeTransfer and Zoom.
DIRECTORS ANNUAL
REPORT 2020
Digital Evangelism and Discipleship
Although our cross-border Missions to Zimbabwe,
Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Kenya
and Sudan had to be put on hold during the
enforced lockdowns, our Mission was as busy and
productive as ever. As millions have migrated to
Cape Town from all over Africa, we conducted over 200 outreaches within the Cape Peninsula. People from closed
countries such as Saudi Arabia and Somalia
are being evangelised and discipled in Cape
Town. We greatly increased our online
ministry, making available hundreds of
tracts, articles and other Evangelistic and
Discipleship resources digitally. 29 of
my books are now available as E-books.
Numerous of our Manuals and Handbooks
are now available as Free PDF’s online.
Muslim Evangelism Online
By God’s grace, the www.TheMessageofNabiIsa.org website is operational, reaching Muslims for Christ. Based on the
lifelong work of Missionary to Muslims, Gerhard Nehls, a long-time friend of our Mission, this website is designed to
explain the Gospel to Muslims in both video and PowerPoint format. Colin designed the website and Hunter finished
the video editing. The website also includes Dear Abdullah (correspondence designed by Gerhard Nehls to interact with
Muslims and guide them, step by step, to understand the teachings of the Bible and to answer frequently asked questions).
This website also includes a copy of the Injil (The Gospels of our Lord Jesus Christ). This is a wonderful online resource
for evangelising and reaching Muslims with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, in a way that is culturally appropriate and
specifically designed to reach Muslims. This website and video have the potential to reach many hundreds of thousands
of Muslims worldwide. Please share it with your Muslim neighbours, friends and contacts, or share with others that
you are in correspondence with, or who live in communities where there are Muslims. “All the ends of the world shall
remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the Kingdom is the
Lord’s and He rules over the nations.” Psalm 22:27-28
Free Digital Library Programme
Our popular Library Programme has provided
basic Discipleship Libraries for hundreds of
pastors, teachers, chaplains, evangelists, students
and prisoners throughout Africa, for decades.
Now, since this year, we are able to offer this free
Digital Library Programme to anyone online.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God,
a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
Reformation to Remotest Regions
Originally designed to provide online resources for Persecuted
Christians in Restricted Access Areas, WCBI is pleased
to make these valuable resources more widely available,
particularly in this time when so many are restricted in
travel. WCBI is ideal for home educators, missionaries and
evangelists. You can access an entire educational programme
of video presentations, audio lectures, PowerPoints, lecture
notes, workbooks, manuals, textbooks and inspiring examples
of excellence from history, in the comfort of your own home.
“Expect great things from God! Attempt great things for God!”
Bibles for Africa
Despite Lockdown restrictions on travel, we managed to
organise for Bible deliveries in indigenous African languages,
including: Bemba, Chichewa, Moru, Ndebele, Shangaan,
Shona, Xhosa and Zulu, to trusted pastors and evangelists
in Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and
Sudan.
Webinars, Zoom Conferences and Church Planting
We also took part in Webinars and conference events by
Zoom. I travelled up the West coast to a remote area to
conduct services and assist in a church planting project.
March to Parliament
We participated in a March to Parliament to protest against government complicity in farm murders and terrorism. I
was asked to address the marchers at the gates of parliament and numerous radio and TV interviews followed up this
event.
Outreaches
We distributed tens-of-thousands of tracts and Gospel booklets in outreaches in and around Cape Town during
Women’s Day and for International Life Chain Sunday. Our missionaries conducted regular outreaches in least reached
areas throughout the Cape Peninsula. We have engaged in over 200 outreaches this year, including on local university
campuses, in Muslim neighbourhoods, door-to-door evangelism, street ministry, open air preaching, outside abortuarys,
in shopping centres, at railway stations, at bus and taxi ranks, at hospitals, in parks and in prisons. Hunter organised and
led 90 outreaches and developed 31 relationships of regular ongoing evangelism and discipleship. Hunter also led 38
Bible studies, 5 workshops and 26 sermons, presentations and radio programmes.
Churches on Lockdown
Most churches in South Africa have not yet been able to reconvene Sunday worship services since the Lockdown
was enforced from 26 March. This is because most congregations in our country do not have their own building, but
depend on public venues, such as schools, town halls, scouts and girl guide halls. Under Lockdown regulations, these are
forbidden to allow churches to meet during the dragged-out lockdown. This has left many frustrated over the failure of
their local congregation to meet, minister and worship together. Many have come to Literature4Africa for literature and
audio visual resources, to enable them to conduct home fellowship services.
Livingstone House Building Project
Throughout 2020, we have been in the process of converting our attic at our Mission Headquarters into a multi-purpose
hall (Upper Room – Bathman Memorial Hall) and extra accommodation. This has been long overdue as we have had
to accommodate missionaries and guests in tents. There are many volunteers who would gladly work at our Mission, if
we can provide accommodation. Now, by God’s grace and the generosity of Lenora who has put her entire inheritance
from her parents, Rev. Bill and Harriett Bathman, into the Livingstone House Building Project, we also have four more
bedrooms, a kitchenette, Pioneers Network Studio and a Comms/IT Workshop. We have also expanded our Men’s dorm.
Since Reformation Day, the Upper Room has been used for Thursday night Reformation Society meetings and this year
we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving in the Upper Room. For over a month, our regular radio recordings have been
recorded in the Pioneers Network Studio, which is named after two of the Missions which Bill Bathman founded:
Pioneers and Network. “The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad.” Psalm 126:3
Back to the Bible Biblical Interpretation Course
Hunter hosted a series of Biblical Interpretation Workshops at our Mission house with lay-preachers, pastors, teachers
and evangelists who were given homework assignments to complete and were equipped with basic tools for rightly
interpreting the Scriptures, understanding the historical background and importance of context in order to compile
exegetical sermons. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted
For 30 years, Frontline Fellowship has been working, along with other missions to the persecuted
worldwide, to promote IDOP. This is the largest prayer movement for the persecuted, focused on mobilising
congregations to observe a Day of Prayer for the Persecuted, on the second Sunday in November each
year. Frontline Fellowship runs the www.idop-africa.org website and we invite believers to join Christians
throughout the world in praying with and for the Persecuted, providing them with news, articles,
resources, PowerPoints, links, videos and contacts to enable them to mobilise friends, family, co-workers, congregations
and community, to prayer and action on behalf
of those who are persecuted for the Faith. Over
400 million Christians live in the 67 countries of
the world which severely restrict, or persecute,
believers. “Remember the prisoners as if chained
with them – those who are mistreated – since you
yourselves are in the body also.” Hebrews 13:3
War Against Historic Monuments
The Frankfurt School of Cultural Marxism declared their intention to break every tie of blood, soil, nation, race, religion
and allegiance, through the Gramsci Strategy, the Termite Strategy, of eroding the heart and soul of Christian civilisation
in preparation for Marxist Revolution. This is plainly what is behind the cancel culture targeting of historic monuments.
When vandals decapitated the bust of Cecil John Rhodes in Cape Town, I took this as an opportunity to expose the
Marxist agenda and teach on The Importance of Monuments and The Legacy of Cecil John Rhodes. Through letters to the
Editor, on radio programmes, at public meetings and on social media, the battle raged and I was able to reach far more
people by spring boarding off this act of vandalism than one could possibly reach through normal means. We helped
launch Friends of Rhodes Memorial, retrieved the head of the monument and campaigned to restore the monument.
When we met with intransigence by a political appointee, we launched the Friends of Rhodes Memorial website and
Facebook page and a Petition. Pressure built and in response we received authorisation from South African National
Parks to, at our own expense, restore the monument. Within the week, just in time for Heritage Day, the monument
was completely restored and a team of volunteers arrived to give a spring clean to this popular tourist attraction and
imposing monument with its eight imperial lions and the powerful energy horse monument, where Easter sunrise
services are regularly celebrated. We sang the Hymn: He Who Would Valiantly Be and prayed. We also engaged in open
air preaching to visitors of the monument.
Rhodesia Ministry
As Chairman for the Flame Lily Foundation – Cape Peninsula (FLF-CP), I serve as Chaplain
for the Rhodesia Remembrance Services, Editor of The Fish Eagle and now contributing
Editor to the Rhosarian Magazine. We have regular monthly meetings in Fish Hoek and I
was heavily involved in the battle over Rhodes Memorial, which was vandalised. Through
the efforts of Friends of Rhodes Memorial, which we helped start, the memorial was fully
restored in time for Heritage Day. FLF-CP is also involved in helping Rhodesian pensioners
and preserving the heritage of Rhodesia. To this end, we have begun a Rhodesia Heritage
Library at Livingstone House. We also contribute regularly to the Rhodesians Worldwide
magazine and Reclaiming Rhodesia.
Cape Independence Movement
This year, I was also asked to start the Cape Independence Forum. I regularly chair
meetings by Zoom with different role players working for self-determination, secession
and independence for a Free and Independent Cape of Good Hope. To this end, I have
produced a number of articles and presentations, including: A Case for Cape Independence;
Successful Secession in the Bible and History; and Eyewitness to Successful Secession
Movements. The Cape Independence Handbook is now freely available online. We have seen tremendous growth in the
Cape Independence movement in 2020, including CapeXit growing from 10,000 members to over 600,000 by the end of
this year. I have conducted meetings to USAF at Dalbarton in Zuidland, spoken at the CapeXit Conference and AGM,
as well as a number of other Cape Independence events. The recent Stellenbosch March for Independence was very
successful with a variety of movements and groups cooperating effectively together. I have had numerous radio and TV
Interviews on this movement for Cape Independence, internationally.
Home Education Fair on Reformation Day
On Reformation Day, Saturday, 31 October, we hosted a Home Education Fair, where home educators set up displays
and tables to sell homemade crafts, food and educational resources. There was also a Reformation Day Celebration
service and a Variety Concert. Prizes were also awarded for the winners of the Reformation Art and Essay Competition
2020. This was well supported and a thoroughly enjoyable day with very creative presentations.
Christian Action
This coming February, we will be celebrating 30
years of Africa Christian Action. Africa Christian
Action (ACA) has been organising Life Chains
throughout Southern Africa since 1992. You can
view the most recent Life Chain 2020 video. You can
read the latest Christian Action magazine online. It
includes over 80 pictures, including photo collages
of the March for Life and Women’s Day Missions in
the Mall outreaches in Cape Town. Articles include:
Understanding Psychological Warfare; Responding to
Revolution with Reformation; 1984 Seems Ominously
Relevant Today and 20 Years Ago – African Penguin
Rescue Operation. ACA has also been organising the
Missions in the Malls for 25 years every Women’s
Day. On Monday, 10 August, which was a public
holiday in South Africa, we mobilised 57 volunteers
in 6 teams to conduct outreaches in 8 areas of Cape
Town. Collectively, we distributed over 14,000
Gospel booklets, leaflets, books, New Testaments
and Bibles and had the joy of counselling and
praying with a number of responsive people on the
streets, in shopping malls, parks and in homes. You
can read about these City Wide Outreaches in Cape
Town. “Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim
the Good News of His Salvation from day to day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders
among all peoples.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-24
Upcoming Events
We are looking forward to the new year with many new possibilities and projects in the field, large quantities of Bibles
and books are prepositioned for distribution in Sudan, the Livingstone House building extensions are progressing, the
Biblical Worldview Summit begins next week, then we will be hosting Christian Science Engineer, Philip Stott, followed
by Sanctity Life Sunday and the National Day of Repentance and March for Life. Numerous translations, writing and
printing projects are also nearing completion. For all this we pray for God’s provision, protection and blessing.
Multi-Generational Ministry of Multiplication
It is our duty and destiny to be involved in a ministry of multiplication with a multi-generational vision. We are called
to be strong and faithful as we equip and empower Evangelists to seek first the Kingdom of God, making disciples
of nations, teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded. The Great Commission is our Supreme
Ambition. Christs last Command must be our first concern. “And the things that you have heard from me among many
witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a
good soldier of Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 2:2-3
Thank You
The missionaries, interns and staff of Frontline Fellowship join me in expressing our deep gratitude for your prayers,
encouragement and support. We have much to be grateful for. God has protected us from many dangers, blessed and multiplied
our humble, inadequate efforts for the extension of His Kingdom and to serve the suffering Church. We are deeply grateful
for all of His provisions and magnificent answers to so many prayers. It is a great privilege to be His sons and daughters,
His servants and soldiers, serving the suffering, training and mobilising Evangelists and educators, soul winners and nation
transformers. By God’s grace, we trust our Lord Jesus Christ for a far more productive and effective year of ministry ahead.
May God continue to be your joy and strength.
Yours for Reformation, Revival and the fulfilment of the Great Commission
Dr. Peter Hammond
Director
