GRATITUDE

The best way to start your morning is by appreciating

and being grateful for what you have.

Once you start appreciating what you have, no

matter how big or small, you’ll feel a positive

sensation run through your body. The power in

gratitude is you’re picking and focusing your

energy on things that are working for you. I

recommend creating a list of 3 things you are

grateful for in the morning and in the evening.

Do it every day for 14 days straight and reflect

on how you feel after.

MEDITATION

85% of our behaviours is automatic and determined

by our environment. If we allow our environment

to dictate our mood, then our life will

feel like an emotional rollercoaster. It’s hard to

see things from a new perspective when you’re

stressed and anxious, practising meditation will

help relieve those negative feelings leaving you

open to a new point of view. Meditation boosts

the chemicals in your brain and body, elevating

your mood. We have been taught to never leave

the house without brushing our teeth, so why

not apply the same ritual with meditation as this

is cleaning your mind daily.

A simple meditation you can do right now is

close your eyes and practise focusing your energy

just on your breathing, letting whatever emotions

come up without judgement. Breathe in for

4 seconds and hold, then exhale for 4 seconds

and hold. Repeat this 6 times and you’ll instantly

feel your anxiety and stress levels reduce.

EXERCISE

Studies have proven that getting a sweat session

in each day improves and self-regulates

your mood, reducing depression and anxiety.

So when things seem extra challenging, remove

yourself physically from your environment,

leave your phone at home and go for a brisk

walk or run.
