Camping out under the clear night skies, we could
spot whole clusters of stars and the bright moon.
We were a world away from the hectic chaos often
associated with India. Riding through Rajasthan is
visually theatrical, from the beautiful, bright sari’s
to the decorated camels and tuktuks, it’s like riding
into a technicolour movie set. Our route crossed
many heritage forts and hotels which used to be
private princely residences. The walls literally echo
with stories, music and folklore. Riding right into
these astonishing forts and palaces, the horses
would camp in the courtyards whilst we would dive
into the swimming pools and end the days ride with
gin and tonics under the balmy night skies. Riding
Marwari’s in India is a truly unique experience. India’s
cacophony of colours, light and motion provide
a heady backdrop to a thrilling and fast paced
