Agreat day of racing and family fun promised<br />

Head to the Rangiora racecourse<br />

on Monday, February 8, for afunfilledfamily<br />

day.<br />

The Amberley Trotting Club is<br />

hosting its annual race day at the<br />

course, along with goodoldfashioned<br />

fun, games and<br />

competitions for young and old.<br />

The Amberley committee is<br />

determined that <strong>2021</strong> will get off<br />

to an entertaining and fun start,<br />

as peopleput 2020 behindthem.<br />

Entry is free,allowing people<br />

to see some greatracingand<br />

enjoy local hospitality.<br />

The Amberley Club will once<br />

again host some of the bestgrass<br />

track horsesand drivers in<br />

<strong>Canterbury</strong>. There will be<br />

competitivefieldsand exciting<br />

racing, withthe feature once<br />

again being the <strong>2021</strong> Rangiora<br />

EquineServices Amberley Cup.<br />

There will alsobetwo heats of<br />

the ever­popular Kids Carts<br />

races for up­and­coming young<br />

drivers in <strong>Canterbury</strong>.<br />

There is plenty happening off<br />

courseaswell.<br />

In the Amberley JuniorDrivers<br />

Kids area, children’s entertainer<br />

Neville Barrywill put on his<br />

popular show. There will be a<br />

bouncycastle,pony rides, alolly<br />

scramble, sack races, atug­of­war<br />

and running races—all free.<br />

The Lucky Horseshoe draw<br />

returns, where 15 lucky children<br />

will be drawn during the day to<br />

win great prizes, includinga$500<br />

Interislander Travelvoucher.<br />

John McCabe will onceagain<br />

be the on­course entertainer.<br />

There will alsobe‘‘Telfers<br />

MysteryEnvelope’’, with five<br />

Having fun ... Harley Marsh, of Belfast,<br />

took part in the InterIslander Tug of War in<br />

the birdcage at last year’s meeting.<br />

Busy day ... Robbie Close, winning driver of Claus, in race<br />

seven last year, with his sponsor Adam White. Both men are<br />

also on the Amberley Trotting Club committee. Claus was<br />

trained by Regan Todd at Woodend Beach.<br />
