information to assist families to prepare for the cyclone
season.

Join DCO at Adventure Land for a chat, coffee and
networking with other ADF families. Includes a short
“Be Crocwise” talk with Park and Wildlife Rangers and
an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Bombing of Darwin | Various Events
On 19 th February 1942, Darwin was bombed in two
separate Japanese air raids becoming the largest single
attack ever mounted by a foreign power on Australia.

Bowl Patrol is an 8-week program organised by Planet Ten
Pin in Nightcliff, which teaches children between the ages
of 6-12 about the principles and fundamentals of Ten Pin
Bowling. The program has been running for the last three
years through Planet Ten Pin and is managed by Terry and
Deb, who are passionate, understanding and patient
coaches. Although bowling is generally known as a fun
activity for all ages, Ten Pin Bowling is also an independent
and competitive sport for all ages. The well-known
entertainment facility has been running in Nightcliff since
1976 and provides party rooms, catering, league
competitions, Halloween parties and other fun events
throughout the year!
Terry and Deb are a friendly couple who both served in
the Australian Defence Force. Deb was in the Air Force
between 1977-1982, then Terry enlisted into the Australian
Army in 1982. Back then though, it wasn’t possible to be
co-located with a serving spouse, so Deb made the difficult
decision to retire from the Air Force to focus on starting a
family and completing her Bachelor of Nursing.
Bowl Patrol costs only $99 for 8 weeks and can be covered
by the NT Government School Sports Voucher.
Participants also receive a t-shirt and a hat, plus the option
of joining a league after reaching a certain level of
competence and skill. The program is also suitable for any
person with disabilities and the Bowl Patrol team provide
dedicated coaching and support as part of their
commitment to the community.
