Balmoral Tanks
expands APAC
footprint
The very latest in tank coating technology is
used on Balmoral’s efusion ® product range

Balmoral Tanks’ Regional Sales Director, Asia Pacific
Chairman and managing director,
James Milne CBE, established
Balmoral Group in 1980 with just
five employees designing and manufacturing
glass-reinforced plastic products.
Today, the group employs more than
600 people and is made up of several
companies, including Balmoral Tanks. The
privately-owned operation specialises
in buoyancy, flotation, insulation and
renewable energy products as well as liquid
storage solutions.
COATED TANK MARKET
In 2014, Balmoral acquired the assets
of an epoxy-coated tank manufacturer
which had fallen into administration. This
strategic move provided access to important
intellectual property and core experience in
the design and manufacture of epoxy coated
and stainless-steel bolted tanks. Balmoral’s
launch into the global coated bolted steel
market had begun.
The original plant had been built to primarily
service the UK and European markets
however its size and capacity limited the
company’s ability to expand and grow.
In 2017 Balmoral Tanks invested in a
brand-new state-of-the-art facility in the
heart of the UK, comprising of purposebuilt
manufacturing operations, training
school and modern office space; a multimillion-pound
investment which is evident
immediately once you set foot on the premises.
