The Council has set out its ambition to reduce its own
carbon footprint by 50% (with respect to a 2010
baseline) by 2025 and is on course to deliver and
even exceed this due to the relevant projects listed
above together with projected decarbonisation of the
national electricity grid as can be seen in Figure 20.
Whilst we are confident of achieving this target, it
should be noted that it is based on an assumption
that the national electricity grid will decarbonise to
the expected levels and that if this does not occur,
there is a risk that we may fall short based on our
projects alone.
