Formidable duo,<br />

Welfare for 14<br />
years <strong>and</strong> rehomed<br />
hundreds of dogs.<br />
It all began when<br />
the ladies, who met<br />
at work, discovered<br />
their shared passion<br />
for dogs. Together,<br />
they began donat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
to, <strong>and</strong> fundrais<strong>in</strong>g<br />
for, local dog welfare<br />

Before Christmas Ruth <strong>and</strong> Paul<strong>in</strong>e raised<br />
£353 to help with vet bills<br />
charities <strong>in</strong> the area, <strong>and</strong> when a co-worker asked the pair to help them f<strong>in</strong>d a new home<br />
for her dog, Ruth <strong>and</strong> Paul<strong>in</strong>e knew exactly what to do <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rugeley</strong> Welfare for Dogs was<br />
born!<br />
The service that the ladies offer <strong>in</strong>volves a ‘dog match<strong>in</strong>g’ technique to ensure that<br />
owners <strong>and</strong> dogs are perfectly matched to each other. Once a dog has been rehomed, Ruth<br />
<strong>and</strong> Paul<strong>in</strong>e will keep <strong>in</strong> touch with the new owners as much as possible to ensure that the<br />
dog is thriv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> its new home.<br />

Tales of a Private Chef<br />

In the days when<br />
we were allowed<br />
to travel <strong>and</strong> I<br />
worked <strong>in</strong> St Tropez<br />
I used to meet up<br />
with another private<br />
chef for a dr<strong>in</strong>k<br />
every so often.<br />
These jobs tend to<br />
be for a two-week<br />
spell when people<br />
hire villas, the work varies a lot.<br />
On this occasion he arrived at the villa <strong>and</strong> saw the<br />
clients <strong>in</strong> the drive with a taxi <strong>and</strong> suitcases. “Ah we’ve all<br />
arrived together,” he said. “No,” replied the client, “we<br />
are just leav<strong>in</strong>g.”<br />
“Have I got the wrong date?” asked the chef.<br />
“No, not at all,” came the reply. “We are go<strong>in</strong>g away on<br />
a yacht for a couple of weeks, you are here to cook for<br />
the dog. You will f<strong>in</strong>d the menu on the back of the fridge<br />
door. Any problems ask the butler.”<br />
There are many ways the uber-rich like to spend their<br />
money <strong>and</strong> that is just one example.<br />
