WHAT AN ANXIETY ATTACK FEELS
LIKE:
BY ANONYMOUS
It’s like thinking something
irrational, knowing it’s irrational,
but not being able to stop the
thoughts.
It’s when your whole body feels
on edge, like you’re panic stricken.
That at any moment you might
combust, a ticking time bomb.
It’s when your mind races, like you
can hear all your thoughts at once
but can’t focus on the present
moment.
It’s when your heart races, you’re
losing breath, worried that you
might pass out.
It feels uncontrollable, even when
you try to control it.
It’s like an out of body experience
- you’re rationalising, talking
yourself out of the panic, yet your
body and mind is ignoring you.
It’s like being in a body that’s not
yours.
