entertainment, ensuring the day<br />
continues to be enjoyable for<br />
young and old alike. Enthusiasts<br />
and owners are invited to<br />
showcase their much<br />
loved cars – classic,<br />
vintage, veteran,<br />
modern day cars,<br />
sports cars, hot rods,<br />
motorbikes and more.<br />
Car Clubs and groups<br />
are welcome to set up<br />
a dedicated display<br />
area and should<br />
contact the organisers<br />
to arrange this. All<br />
interesting or unusual vehicles are welcome!<br />
Gates open at 10.30am to both the public and those keen<br />
to display their cars. Judging starts at 11.30am, with prize<br />
giving held at 1.00pm. Classic Driver Magazine are once<br />
again providing prizes of a one year magazine subscription<br />
for the best of American, Australian, British, European and<br />
Japanese vehicles. There will also be a ‘Best in Show’ prize<br />
donated by Meguiars, who will also present the People’s<br />
Choice prize.<br />
For the first time this year there will be a prize for Best<br />
Motorcycle, kindly donated by Christchurch Motorcycles.<br />
The event has been run by the Rotary Club of Avonhead for<br />
the past 16 years, with club members volunteering much of<br />
their time to plan<br />
all aspects of the<br />
event, planning<br />
the car parade,<br />
marshalling on<br />
the day etc. The<br />
organisers have<br />
also this year<br />
set up a Give-a-<br />
Little page with<br />
details and a QR<br />
code on the signs along the route, so that<br />
those who wish to support the event and the<br />
Canterbury Charity Hospital can do so.<br />
This event has enabled Avonhead Rotary to<br />
raise more than $<strong>12</strong>0,000 for local charities<br />
such as the Child Cancer Foundation,<br />
Cholmondely Childrens Centre, and this years’<br />
recipient the Canterbury Charity Hospital.<br />
The support of our sponsors, participants and<br />
spectators enables Avonhead Rotary Club to<br />
continue to support deserving local charities.<br />
