A1.2.2 Colour coating<br />
Non-pigmented macadam shall be coloured with proprietary water<br />
based polyurethane textured court paints. The Contractor’s Proposals<br />
shall include colour swatches <strong>of</strong> the paint to allow approval <strong>of</strong> the<br />
proposed colours by the Employer. A minimum <strong>of</strong> two coats <strong>of</strong> paint<br />
shall be applied in transverse directions to provide a uniform<br />
appearance. The quality <strong>of</strong> the paints shall ensure that there are no<br />
significant signs <strong>of</strong> fading, flaking or cracking for a period <strong>of</strong> three years.<br />
A1.2.3 Line Marking<br />
Line markings shall be in accordance with the relevant sports governing<br />
body rules. Unless stated in the rules all lines shall be 50mm wide <strong>and</strong><br />
applied using at least two coats <strong>of</strong> paint. When measured with a<br />
calibrated steel tape all line markings shall be within 20mm <strong>of</strong> their true<br />
position as specified in the appropriate rule. Markings shall not deviate<br />
by more than 10mm from a line joining their ends, nor include any<br />
sudden steps. Line edges shall be parallel <strong>and</strong> uniform.<br />
A1.3 Floodlighting<br />
The minimum performance <strong>of</strong> the floodlighting system shall be as<br />
follows:<br />

Illumination st<strong>and</strong>ards shall be based on measurements taken after<br />
dark at ground level.<br />
A1.4 Testing on completion<br />
For all projects where the total area <strong>of</strong> the MUGA or MUGAs exceeds<br />
1500m 2 the facility shall be tested as detailed in the following schedule.<br />
