Sarah Canning
Sarah is an award-winning solicitor and
dual accredited mediator. With over 25
years’ experience in dispute resolution,
Sarah works with corporates and
individuals to achieve their best solution to
a problem.
In addition to her role as Branch Chair,
she is also an External Associate at the
University of Northampton’s Centre of
Sustainable Business Practices.
Shamir Ghumra
As Head of Building
Performance Services at BRE,
Shamir is well connected to
both industry and academia
and his is a hugely respected
voice within industry associations.
Shamir is a former board member and
co-founder of the Supply Chain
Sustainability School and also former
co-chair of the Construction industry
coalition on Modern Slavery.
He plays an active role in standards and
is involved with both European and
International work.
Craig Bentley
Craig is director of Bentley
Management & Consulting, a
small consultancy helping
organisations improve
performance through
building capability and
supporting design and implementation of
improvement programmes.
Craig’s career includes leadership roles in
operations, marketing, and commercial
development, and consulting experience
across numerous sectors including
construction, logistics, education and
financial services.
He is also a mentor and an Enterprise
Advisor.
Nicola Moss
Nicola has many years of
experience in operations
events marketing comms
and PR. Having most recently
supported small businesses
while working for the FSB, she
understands the challenges businesses face
and the role of the membership
organisation in supporting its members by
providing signposting, familiarisation with
new business regulations, compliance,
learning and networking opportunities.

Rhiannon Stafford
Rhiannon is a leadership development
and talent management consultant. Her
career spans over 20 years working in HR,
resourcing and leadership development
roles for large corporate companies.
Now Rhiannon works independently
with organisations who want to grow or
transform, providing bespoke leadership
development programmes, coaching,
personal development and team
effectiveness solutions.
At the heart of her work is a belief that a
diverse and inclusive organisation is
innovative, creative and high performing.

Kyra Williams
Kyra has worked in media
production in various guises
for 25 years, with experience
editing videos for broadcast
TV, music videos and
documentaries. She runs a small
production company and provides a varied
range of media services for a mixture of
SMEs and Corporate businesses.
Kyra frequently works in an advisory
role to support communication goals, often
using multimedia to achieve objectives, and
has taught and run workshops on media
and communication.
She is keen to use her ambassador role to
improve communication with current IoD
members, particularly in the creative
industries, and find out how ‘leadership’
differs in the creative industries.
Mark Eydman
An IoD Member since 2015,
Mark is a passionate
advocate of quality, customer
loyalty and employee
engagement as drivers of
business success. Originally trained as an
engineer, Mark has held operational,
management and leadership posts in
complex international settings and is
especially experienced in commercial
construction. In addition to current
consulting and NED positions, Mark now
lectures at two universities and supports a
quality related apprenticeship scheme.
Gareth Thomas
Following 15+ years working
in public sector roles
managing skills policy
implementation for the
Government, Gareth set up his
own consultancy in 2014. Supported by a
couple of trusted freelance associates, we
advise businesses, training providers and
public sector bodies on skills programme
development and implementation such as
Apprenticeship programmes.
His aim with the IoD is to ensure
members are aware of local opportunities
to influence public sector business and
skills investment decisions (such as through
LEPs) and raise awareness of different skills
and employment support opportunities
that are available, as well as raise the profile
of the IoD.
