McCLELLAND<br />
Jon A. McClelland, 68, of London died on <strong>April</strong> 10, <strong>2021</strong>, in The<br />
Ohio State University Hospital. Born on Dec. 31, 1952, in Columbus,<br />
he was a son of Kenneth and Rosemary (Dehmann) McClelland.<br />
A 1971 graduate of The Plains High School, Jon then received<br />
his associate degree from Franklin University. He started his career<br />
with Ohio Willow Wood and then worked and retired from General<br />
Motors in Columbus. A lifelong member of Mount Sterling United<br />
Methodist Church, Jon had also volunteered for the Tri County Fire<br />
District for 50 years. For 30 years, he volunteered for the Sterling<br />
Joint Ambulance District, retiring as chief. He also volunteered for<br />
30 years with the Range Township Fire Department. In 1981, Jon<br />
received the Medal of Valor from the Ohio State Legislature for saving<br />
a child’s life during a house fire.<br />
Survivors include: his wife of 42 years, Sue (Gray) McClelland;<br />
son, Andrew (Rebekah) McClelland; daughter, Jessica (Paul)<br />
Berick; granddaughters, Graycen McClelland and Vera Berick;,<br />
brothers, Timothy (Judy) McClelland and Scott (Debbie) McClelland;<br />
many nieces and nephew; and sister-in-law. Kathy McClelland.<br />
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and<br />
brother, Mark McClelland.<br />
A memorial service was set for 1 p.m. <strong>April</strong> 24 at Mount Sterling<br />
United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Karen Crawford, Rev.<br />
Harry Scott, and Rev. Carolyn Scott officiating. Interment was set<br />
to follow in Bethel Cemetery. Friends called at the Mount Sterling<br />
fire department on <strong>April</strong> 23.<br />

CAVINEE<br />
Paul Lee Cavinee, 73, passed away on <strong>April</strong> 15, <strong>2021</strong>. He was a<br />
member of West Jefferson United Methodist Church and a graduate<br />
of West Jefferson High School Class of 1965, where he played football<br />
on the 1962 state champion team. He also was a member of the<br />
West Jefferson Optimist Club and West Jefferson Athletic Boosters.<br />
He served as commissioner of WJYAA and coached pee wee football,<br />
baseball and softball. Paul was an avid stock car and drag racing<br />
participant and fan. He enjoyed fishing and family poker night.<br />
Paul was preceded in death by: parents, Pete and Martha Cavinee;<br />
sisters, Sandy Cavinee and Connie Pennington; father- and<br />
mother-in-law, Jack and Annie Salyer; and sister-in-law, Brenda<br />
Salyer Lightfoot. He is survived by: his loving wife of 52 years, Judy;<br />
children, Paul Jason Cavinee, Kacey Lynne Cavinee and Justin<br />
(Angela) Cavinee; siblings, Debbie (Bobby) Archey and Kim Cavinee;<br />
brother-in-law, Chip (Karen) Salyer; grandchildren, Jordan,<br />
Phil (Amanda), Lillie, Ezekiel and Asher; brother-in-law, Gary<br />
Lightfoot; and numerous loving relatives and friends.<br />
Memorial contributions may be made to: Heartland Hospice, 116<br />
Morris Road B, Circleville, Ohio, 43113. Visitation and a Celebration<br />
of Life service took place on <strong>April</strong> 20 at West Jefferson United<br />
Methodist Church. The family was served by Rader-McDonald-Tidd<br />
Funeral Home, West Jefferson.<br />
WEBB<br />
Dallas Vincent James Webb, 25, of London died on <strong>April</strong> 16,<br />
<strong>2021</strong>, in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton. Born on June 14, 1995, in<br />
Columbus, he was the son of James and Allison (Payne) Webb. Very<br />
talented with electronics, Dallas spent most of his time working in<br />
construction and remodeling.<br />
Survivors include: his mother and father, Allison and James<br />
Webb; sister, Ashtyn Webb; grandparents, James E. and Jenna<br />
“Mamaw” Webb; grandfather, Jeffrey A. Hunter; very special aunt,<br />
Jennifer (Dan) Hunter; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was<br />
preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Delbianco.<br />
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. The family<br />
is being served by Eberle-Fisher Funeral Home and Crematory, London.<br />

PINKERTON<br />
Brian M. Pinkerton, 51, passed away at Doctors Hospital<br />
(Columbus) on <strong>April</strong> 18, <strong>2021</strong>. Brian was born on July 25, 1969, in<br />
Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving mother,<br />
Linda Browning, and stepfather, Tom Davis. Brian is survived by<br />
his son, Matthew Pinkerton, and uncle, Chuck Davis. May he rest<br />
in peace. Arrangements were handled by Rader-McDonald-Tidd Funeral<br />
Home, West Jefferson.<br />
CLIFTON<br />
Norma Jean “Rose” Clifton, 89, of Plumwood died on <strong>April</strong> 19,<br />
<strong>2021</strong>, in Springfield. Born on Jan. 18, 1932, in Plumwood, she was<br />
a daughter of James Daniel and Alta J. (Stockwell) Harsh.<br />
She had attended the former Plumwood United Methodist<br />
Church. Rose loved quilting and her family. She also had a passion<br />
for traveling, making to every state except Hawaii.<br />
Survivors include: her children, John (Ramona) Clifton, David<br />
Clifton and Carolyn Jean (Dave) McSurley, all of Plumwood; daughter-in-law,<br />
Cindy Clifton of Plumwood; 12 grandchildren and 19<br />
great grandchildren, plus two on the way; brother, John Harsh; several<br />
nieces and nephews.<br />
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Robert<br />
L. Clifton; daughter, Carol Jane “Janie” Harsh; sons, Carl Clifton,<br />
James Clifton, Paul Franklin Clifton; brothers, Raymond Harsh,<br />
James Harsh; and sister, Mildred Sargent.<br />
Funeral services were held on <strong>April</strong> 22 in Eberle-Fisher Funeral<br />
Home and Crematory, London, with Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating.<br />
Interment followed in Plumwood Cemetery. Condolences may<br />

Velma Athlee Walters, 92, of<br />
London passed away peacefully on <strong>April</strong> 16,<br />
<strong>2021</strong>.<br />
Born November 22, 1929, in Church Hill<br />
Tennessee. Daughter of George K. and Fannie M.<br />
(Lloyd) Churchwell both of Tennessee.<br />
Velma was a homemaker all her life, she enjoyed<br />
baking, crafts, home decorating, and gardening.<br />
She is survived by her son David (Marion) Walters<br />
and Sandra (Frank) Miller both of London. Grandchildren<br />
