The sad ghost
Once upon a time, there was a young man
who lived in a small town in the invisible city
in the country called "Viajero", the name of
the young man was Joe, he walked every
day to school and no one accompanied him
because they said he was a shy or rather
fearful young man, they did bullying because
he did not like to talk to anyone he spent time and he
walked alone to school, he didn’t like his parents to go
with him, because he said that he could only take care of
himself, so the parents only advised him not to get
involved in problems but he always told them not to
worry that he was not affected by being bullied that one
day he was going to charge them very expensive and
when they didn’t see him walking alone on the street
people and his classmates had to admire because they
would no longer be able to bother him ...
The years passed and the young man became one of the
best students in the school when the parents realized
that their son was very intelligent, his mother had a very
faith or "I dreamed that her son in the future was going
to suffer from a very strange disease that not even the
doctors were going to be able to detect" the crying
mother told her husband but they decided not to tell her
son because he was going to be disappointed in what
she was saying it may happen in the future.

But something strange also happened with the young
man, he also had a dream where he died and left his
body in the form of a fantasy and looked in a box, he saw
how the parents were crying for their deaths, it was
there where he said in his mind that he would take
revenge on his classmates for everything they did to him,
he told his parents the dream but the parents begged
him that the day he died for one reason or another, he
would not be scaring people because that was not going
to be right. He had to rest in peace, but the young man
thought and thought about that day and what he was
going to do after this ... time passed
Joe was terrified because he didn't know the day that he
died, then he saw a little drawer that was moving and
decided to open it when he saw what was inside he got
very sad and started crying, , three hours passed and he
reopened the drawer apparently were photos his future
with a note behind each photo the first photo was from
his funeral and the note said:" where one life ends
another begins", the young man was very frightened and
wondered that because all that was happening to him,
after thinking for a while he remembered when he was
12 he made an unusual wish for a child his age, his
desire to be on the last day of each person, by that time
he had lost his grandma and could not be with her when
she died.

Joe was scared, but he decided to see another picture of
the drawer, he took one but nothing was looked at
everything was blurry then he saw behind the photo and
a note said: you could only see the next photo when
what is in the first photo was fulfilled there. The next day
he got up early and left for school, decided to talk to all
his classmates, but everyone ignored that infuriated the
boy more, but suddenly someone spoke to him was a
very sweet voice apparently a girl's, she approached him
and asked him why he was so angry, Joe was surprised
because she was the first person to ask him something
about him. They sat in the park and he started talking
about his classmates the little girl was very attentive to
every word Joe said then it was done very late and Joe
had to come home and Joe saw that the girl had a mark
on her neck just like her grandmother had. but when he
tried to ask the girl how she pressed that mark she was
already gone.
Joe came home very cheerfully, and his parents were
waiting for him to tell them that he had a new friend at
school and they had talked about everything, his parents
started crying and Joe didn't know why? so he kept telling
them about his new little friend, he told them that she
had a mark on his neck just like his grandma, then Joe's
mom hugs him very hard and his dad told him that the
principal spoke to them worried that his son was
behaving very strangely and talking to someone else but
how weird that no one was with him. Joe ran to his room
and he don't let anyone in, he was very happy about
what his parents told him, apparently, I was talking to my
grandma, Joe said.

The next day Joe dawned in the hospital because the
night before he fainted, the doctor informed Joe's
parents that his son had the disease called the sad ghost
that the disease was very rare, her parents began to cry
and asked the doctor that if there was a cure for that
terrible disease or what the symptoms were, the doctor
told them that there was no cure and that one of the
symptoms was that the person's skin became completely
white, as long as they slept they were crying and that
when they lost their eyesight it was a sign that he was
soon going to die.
Joe's mom went to the hospital every day to read her
favorite stories, but one afternoon Joe's skin started to
turn white, she lost all her strength and within hours he
died. Joe's parents already knew that would happen but
they still couldn't accept it the next day it was Joe's
funeral and suddenly he woke up but like a ghost, he felt
very weird and very empty then he saw around him and
realized that his funeral was the same as he had seen in
the drawer photo, he decided to go get the drawer and
see the other picture, but when he went looking for it he
found the little girl again and told her to be very careful
with that drawer because he showed you things you've
never seen before. But Joe didn't listen to him and
decided to see the second photo go up to his room and
saw the photo appear the face of one of his classmates
and a note saying “hate brings revenge and bitter
revenge”, Joy didn't know what to do but suddenly
appeared in the room of his classmate he saw in the
photo, apparently his classmate couldn't see him.

Joe decided to follow him and realized he was going to
his stepfather's house and in his pocket, he carried a
gun, he tried to stop him but he couldn't do anything, his
classmate shut up in the street and started crying and
took his gun and killed himself, then within a few minutes
he could see Joy, they started talking and he told him his
story and why he wanted to kill his stepfather but as he
told her his story he was fading until he never saw him
again. Joy was very terrified and didn't want to see
anyone else die anymore, and he wanted to know how to
rest in peace and no longer take the form of a ghost, he
went to get the and there were three more photographs
but there was also a letter, that letter he hadn't seen it
before so he decided to read it and the letter said: Dear
Joe, I am the person you never knew but I am that
person who granted you your wish maybe it was not the
way you expected but try to be the most detailed for you,
in the drawer there are three more photographs, each
contains one of your greatest fears, so you have to do
the right thing with every person who will appear in the
photograph because it's up to you that they keep living, I
know you'll wonder when this is over? Well let me answer
you you will stop being like this until you have overcome
each of your fears and decide to do the right thing and
leave behind the idea of revenge with all the people who
hurt you, leave behind your hatred, your fears, and your
bad memories and learn to value what you still have to
do, the notes that are in each of the photographs are not
for the people who appear there, those notes are for
you. I hope you know how to do the right thing with
what's going to happen to you soon.

The night was colder than ever and Joy was in her room
crying and wishing that had never happened to him, so
he saw the third photograph and saw that the person
who appeared was his uncle, the one who had run to his
parents from his house when Joy was just a baby, Joy was
very anxious about what would happen to his uncle and
he said in her mind with a very evil smile -being a ghost is
not so bad-, but then he saw the note that the
photography had and said: “Forgive the past and so the
future is different”, suddenly Joy showed up in her uncle's
room, he was crying and in her hands he had Joy's picture
and it was also said: if I hadn't run them from my house
Joy would be alive, then he take many pills and a glass of
water and he started drinking them, Joy had fallen in
shock and didn't know what to do, until he came up with
a pencil and started writing: “Hi uncle I'm Joy”.
The uncle was scared and thought it was the effects of
the pills, so Joy wrote to him, "Uncle, don't hurt yourself,
all people make mistakes, and we must learn to forgive
people, but the most important thing is to forgive
ourselves”, Joy's uncle was surprised but he still didn't
believe what he was seeing, so he ask him why he was
helping him if he never did anything good in his life, so Joy
replied that he shouldn't blame himself for what had
already happened and that he should go and talk to his
parents and apologize to them, Joy's uncle was very calm
after reading what Joy had written to him and decided to
go to the parents’ house and apologize.

Joe felt great even though he was a ghost he felt that was
the happiest ghost in the world, he didn't understand
why just by forgiving someone everything could change.
And the next day he saw the following picture in which 3
of his classmates were drowning in the lake, he tried to
help them, but he could not, he felt very guilty for not
being able to help them. But at that moment, at the
shore of the lake there was a blackboard, he wrote on it,
HELP HELP HELP ...
Three children drowned,
at that precise moment
one of the other classmates
who made fun of him and treated him badly saw that
the chalk was moving by itself, it was at that moment that
he gave a scream, which called the attention of all the
people who were nearby, and came to see what was
happening, they noticed what was written on the board,
and that's when they went to help the 3 children, when
they were given first aid, the children could see Joe; He
spoke to them and told them that mistreating their
classmates was not right, that in spite of everything he
suffered, he forgave them, the only thing he asked them
to do was to change their attitude and not to do the
same with the other children, to live better with them.
Joe felt an immense joy, he felt that his emptiness was
filled with tranquility every time he forgave. Then the 3
children told what they had experienced, everyone was
silent and could not understand anything, they could not
believe that those 3 children had had the same vision
and in spite of that many did not believe it, however, they
decided to change their attitude.

That night Joe rested very happy knowing that he had
managed to save the lives of 3 of his friends. The next
morning Joe couldn't stand the curiosity, he wanted to
know what was in the last picture, so he decided to
check the drawer. It was his mother,
she felt frustrated for having lost he
r son, since perhaps he would have
made better use of his time by her
side. She thought to herself: if she
had told him that she already knew he would get sick;
she would have enjoyed his last days more. And she
wept inconsolably, her beloved husband had already
passed away.
uddenly Joe found himself next to his mother. He tried to
comfort her, but her hands were fading, his mother
could not see him, he found a pen nearby and drew a
ghost crying on a mirror, his mother was frightened, she
quickly took a broom and broke the mirror. She never
imagined that her son still loved him even though he had
cheated on her. Joe wanted to tell her that he was there,
next to her, but he didn't know how. Joe remembered
that he had given her a hook, which had a cupid on it. He
took it and placed it in her hair, he blew on her cheek,
leaving her a kiss of true love and forgiveness, yes
mother at that moment understood that Joe was
watching him, his last words were, very soon I will be with
you beloved son. And PUM disappeared, Joe could no
longer see his mother, he tried to look for her but in vain.
And he shouted: MOM I FORGIVE YOU. Then behind him
he heard a voice that said: I know, honey. They
embraced and little by little they disappeared.

Maria Eliberta Ortiz
Maria Eliberta Ortiz, a student of
English language at the University
of Oriente, was born on July
12, 1999, one of her main dreams
is to help children's homes, as
many people did with her, and
thanks to that support and the difficulties she never gave
up. She is a sincere and honest person, able to help, and
her greatest desire is to start a family, without leaving
aside the people who have always supported her. The
sad ghost, is inspired by forgiveness, because many
times, when people decide to forgive and give
themselves a new opportunity, it is too late. We must
keep in mind that forgiveness and sincerity are so
important, no one knows when our last day will be, and
that revenge only brings us grief.

Dina Raquel Reyes.
Dina Raquel Reyes, was born
on February 22, 2001, her
parents Felix Reyes and Maria
de la Cruz Molina, Raquel is
a student at the Universidad
de Oriente began her studies
in 2019 where she specializes in a bachelor's
degree in English language, her favorite hobbies
are going to church, painting, listening to music
and watching television ,her main goal is to
graduate, and after she can help her parents,
she is always willing to help other people and is
excited to learn something new. One of his main
inspirations for writing the story of the sad ghost
was to be able to reflect the price of resentment
and the weight that people carry when not
forgiving themselves, that story makes life look a
negative perspective but that leaves a great
reflection.
