Here are a few extracts of the archives whichdid help us draw this branch. The top left one shows the list of“Pointers” (aldermen, elected members) whereas Jacques de Pottere,our Ghent ancestor, was one of the esquires of the city of Courtrai inthe 17th century, along with a cousin de Lannoy (his cousin too).The top right document was found during our visit of the Archivesof Courtrai in 2015 and revealed the inheritance of the family ofcousin Paulus de Pottere, holder of a law licence, with ties to severalsub-branches indicated on the family table. The other archives showrecords of Charles, Jacques and Pierre, with charges in Courtrai.74
