THE COASTAL WARD<br />
A by-election is required to fill an extraordinary vacancy for the<br />
Coastal Ward of the Christchurch City Council. <strong>The</strong> vacancy has<br />
arisen from the recent resignation of Councillor James Daniels.<br />
Nominations<br />
Nominations for the above position open on Thursday <strong>15</strong> <strong>July</strong><br />
<strong>2021</strong> and must be made on the official nomination form. Copies<br />
of the nomination form and a candidate information booklet can<br />
be requested from the Christchurch City Council Civic Offices,<br />
downloaded from ccc.govt.nz/elections, or from the electoral<br />
officer (see contact details below).<br />
Completed nomination documents must be received by the<br />
electoral officer no later than midday on Thursday 12 August <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 incl<br />
GST, payable by EFTPOS, cash or online banking (see nomination<br />
form for requirements).<br />
Candidates are encouraged to also submit a candidate profile<br />
statement and recent colour photograph. <strong>The</strong> requirements for<br />
the profile statement and photo are set out in the candidate<br />
information booklet. All nomination documents must be lodged<br />
together. Candidates should refer to the candidate information<br />
booklet for further details.<br />

A preliminary electoral roll for the by-election can be inspected<br />
during normal office hours at the Christchurch City Council Civic<br />

46 Queenspark Drive, Parklands, or the New Brighton Library,<br />
213 Marine Parade, New Brighton from Thursday <strong>15</strong> <strong>July</strong> to<br />
Thursday 12 August <strong>2021</strong>.<br />

residential electoral roll by:<br />

before 4pm on Thursday 12 August <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
Election Details<br />
If an election is required to fill this vacancy, the election will be<br />
conducted by postal voting under the First Past the Post (FPP)<br />
electoral system. Candidate names will be listed in random order<br />
on the voting papers. <strong>The</strong> voting papers will be mailed out to<br />
electors on Thursday 16 September and voting will close at<br />
midday on Friday 8 October <strong>2021</strong>.<br />

SUBMISSIONS<br />
A summary of submissions on Proposed Plan Change 7 to the<br />
Christchurch District Plan and a copy of the submissions, are now<br />
available for public viewing online at ccc.govt.nz/planchange7<br />
or during normal opening hours at any of our service centres or<br />
libraries. For details of your nearest service centre or library,<br />

Further submissions in support of, or in opposition to, the<br />
submissions received may be lodged at the Civic Offices or at any<br />
of our service centres or libraries before 5pm on 28 <strong>July</strong> <strong>2021</strong>.<br />
A further submission may be made only by a person representing<br />
a relevant aspect of the public interest or by a person who has an<br />
interest in the plan change that is greater than the interest of the<br />
